We'll have a Live Stream over on Twitch tomorrow and go through all the updates and progress. We have art, story, and business development stuff to cover.
Oh... crap. I just realized that I am STILL STUCK in that same damn place in Madness Returns. (adds note to todo list: finish that damn area tonight before the stream).

During the stream, we'll talk about the Chess Realm and the work being done to define the areas and narrative scenes that take place inside it. Omri sent along an image (above) of Alice in the Court of the White Chess Pieces.
And Norm sent along a render of The Caterpillar. We'll see him featured throughout Asylum as a sort of time-traveling, all-knowing, mystic oracle who semi-helps Alice through the adventure. Up next we should see a render of the space in which he resides - a trippy psychedelic dream realm.

Ah, too late. We've already crashed into Oz...
We've also started adding images to flesh out the notion of crash landing in Oz. There will be multiple such crash sites all around Oz (depending on the time in which you're visiting). And not just planes but balloons, ships, and any other conveyance that might get swept up in a Gateway to Oz Storm.

I know it's early days but it's still too general. I'd kill for more Oz book references in these pieces to show the art direction is at least aware of the source material.

2020-09-23 13:29:45 +0000 UTCSo….One, getting a ringer to pass that stage I see…. gotcha’ ;- p Chess pic, wondering if Alice looks a bit too much like a Nutcracker, for lack of a better description but over all looks good. Old wise Caterpillar is rockin. Oz crashes look good, looking forward to some other crash type images, balloons, ships, and others. Like Lucky mentioned, would be nice to see some art with the yellow brick road, though I get that you may not want that in the crash sites. Just looking forward to some more art :- ) I like "OZ Adventures" with the new chapter model in mind!
2020-09-23 05:18:53 +0000 UTCI’ve noticed a distinct lack of yellow brick road in any of the concept art for the Oz project. I just want to clear this up, that is not a copyrighted aspect of the property. It exists in the books, and it doesn’t really feel like Oz without it. Obviously not everywhere in Oz is paved in yellow brick, but it’s supposed to be ubiquitous enough that’s its absence is curious.
