Patreon Art Schedule 2021 (2nd Half)

Dear Insane Children,

Font Lord here with the results of the poll to what the next 6 art prints should be.
Around half of you sent in your votes and based on some of the comments on that post, it was very difficult to choose just 6    :)

You'll also notice that in this post I'm going to use 2 methods to describe when/who will get the prints, and we need to ask you about this at the end.

So, as you see above, the header image for this post is THE CAGING.
This will be the next print for July Patrons (Meaning those charged in August)

And here are the next 5 months...

August Patrons, charged in September
UNIVERSAL TRINITY

September Patrons, charged in October
BIRTH OF JABBERWOCK

October Patrons, charged in November
BATTLE OF JUDGEMENT AND HATTER'S QUEST.
(yes it's 2 prints this month)

November Patrons, charged in December
VORPAL GLASS

December Patrons, charged in January
ALICE MEETS CHESH

There we go, YOU have spoken!
Some great ones there, but alas, some other great ones didn't make the cut (this time).
Maybe when we do this again for 2022 they will?  ;)

--------------

Now, help us out please.

When we describe what month a print is for, we have 2 schools of thought here.
The Caging print for example.
Do we...
1) Say it's for July Patrons
2) Say its for those Patrons charged in August

Those 2 choices are for the exact same people, so you can see there's a bit of confusion here. It's a like a utility bill. You use electric in one month, but actually get charged for your usage in the next.

But here's the problem, if we say that a print is for July Patrons, would you be confused?
Not knowing if that meant you had to be joined in July or charged in July?

So, thoughts?
What's clearer and more understandable to you?
How about a 3rd option just like in this very post, that we always use this format, "July Patrons, charged in August" etc etc...

Let us know.
But we will also endeavor to state the art print for the coming month at the start of each new month too   ;)

- Cheers

I like the ‘July patrons charged in august’ version. Makes it so there no room for me to get confused. Especially when I go back and see which posters I haven’t received yet since I don’t get one ever month. But they don’t seem to come in the order I would expect. I’m still missing a couple I think as is. So I’ll use this method from when I’m charged to see what I am missing 😁

You probably already said it’s to complicated to do something like select last months or this months right? If people just had the option they could choose which print to expect

I love them all!!

Sarah McKeegan

ah! makes sense

“July Patrons, charged in August” makes the most sense to me.

Nicholas Brokaw

Everyone seems to be on board with Option 3. I like option 3 as well.

Saleh Abu-Rashid

A print is only available at 3x$35 if it has also been chosen as the print of the month for the $75 and above tiers previously.

American McGee

They always end up in the Mysterious store :)

American McGee

So we get the art prints for being patreons, or how do patreons purchase them?

Craig Barrios

Option 3 is probably the best! (:

I think that July Patrons, charged in August is the clearest

The third option since its really understandable and clear for everyone :)

Jessie States

As someone who did have an issue with this, option 3 is the clearest option. and I am very excited for birth of the jabberwock! question - will any of the OTHER prints that didn't make the cut for the monthly $75 tier be available for the 3@$35 option or in Mysterious? (really want Queensland Battle)

I'm going to toss my vote in for option 3 - saying "July Patrons, charged in August" Also, what's the chances of these prints being offered in the Mysterious store at a later date? Because I would really like these as prints but my funds aren't the best right now :(

Martin Towell

I would agree on option three as well. I myself have had no issues, but its great to see that even some small things are being taken into an account. 🤗

I think option 3 is also the most clear and minimizes confusion.

Kieran

Good point. This is something we have no control over, but it's worth bearing in mind. E.g... If you're at $15 now (July 16th) and you want The Caging, you cannot change your pledge to $75 on August 2nd for example. As Patreon locks in your pledge level at the moment one month rolls into another. You need to change it before midnight on July 31st.

American McGee

Only thing I'm confused about is the timing when to up my pledge if I were to do so. Like if I do it now, I would be considered June patreon, charged in July since it will charge the difference of the tiers straight away? So in order to get The Caging, I would need to up my pledge during the month of August right?

I like option #3 because I've killed a lot of brain cells with video games and get confused. 😅

Wendy Jaa

I would say 3, because it helps it explain for those that are new. I know I was pretty confused at first.

Kelly Eads

I think option 3 is the best, most clear one. Otherwise it gets confusing, especially for new patrons or those that follow other creators that charge up front.

Henrike

If someone switched today, they would be charged the higher tier on August 1st, thus getting the July print of they're at the Monthly Print or Producer tiers. If someone switched to the 3-for-1 today for the first time, they would have to stay at that tier when charged August 1st, September 1st, and October 1st to get ONE print of their choosing from previously released prints. They would not get all three of them at once, nor would they be required to get a specific month's print. The 3-for-1 also does NOT need to be three consecutive months either, it's just whenever you hit the third month at that tier, regardless of if you've changed tiers in between, you'll then be able to choose your print. Does that make sense?

"July patrons, charged in August" would be best really, because I feel like most creators aren't super clear, nor is it 100% consistent, as to when you're charged grants you what reward unless you've already been following them for a bit.

Hey American, so I'm really sure how this kind of stuff works, but what tier(s) will be getting the prints? Because if it is only the 3-for-1 tier and above then would people who switched to that tier now still get the print for July, August and September? Like I said, any clarification helps because I would love to have some of your prints hanging up.

Aaron Picklesimer

I think option 2 or 3 are the clearest as otherwise it does just get confusing, especially for any new patrons that come along. Should save on some customer service queries for you guys if you give the 3rd option labelling. Some fabulous prints for the rest of the year ❤️
