Alice: Asylum Narrative Outline Version 2

Dear Insane Children,

It's here! The second revision of the Narrative Outline for Alice: Asylum

THANK YOU, to our Insane Children for making possible all the art, writing, design, and production that went into making this document possible. This is "Alice: Asylum" in script format - the document that will drive the production of the Design Bible

Alex will start work on the Design Bible NOW. And we expect he'll deliver a semi-final draft around April of 2022. Lots of work going into that document... like a graphic novel play-through of the entire game.

So, if you don't mind MASSIVE SPOILERS, then grab the Narrative Outline PDF (link below), and join Alice on her latest adventure.

Let us know in the comments below what you think - but keep in general. Please, do not post spoilers (elements of the story or design that would ruin any surprises for people who choose not to read this document).

And please join me in expressing A HUGE *job well-done* to Alex. He's done a tremendous amount of work in organizing, writing, and presenting everything you see here. Thanks, Alex. You're full bottle, mate.

Alice: Asylum Narrative Outline Version 2

Comments

It’s taken me a few days to mull over this. Thank you for giving some real resolution, and some actions for Alice to take that are actions that we can also take in our own realities. This has had some much thought and care put into this and I really feel like this could be the best instalment.

Wow! Thank you!!!!

Thank you Austin cook

Yes

?

Is this the last narrative outline script for the game

I had a thought... SPOILERS!!!!...... But what if when Shadow Alice and Child Alice are having tea together they mirror the appearances of the Red and White Queens. Child Alice in white and the Shadow in Red with these crowns on they're heads. I think it would be a great nod to the original story and at the same time be a symbol of they're mastery of wonderland and they're full powers. Just an idea! But I've been thinking about this narrative all day!

Wow! This is amazing. I’ve read through most of this so far and the dialogue and story is fantastic. If the gameplay is as good is this then this game may be legendary. Game of the year woo hoo! Props to both of you and your team. You are all true artists

Thank you Alex and American for sharing this with us! I enjoyed every second of both versions of the narrative outlines. I'm so happy Lizzie was in this version more she deserved this beautiful send off. Alice is definitely the most bad ass super hero lol I loved this from beginning to end! I'm excited to see more work done on the design Bible! This has been some of the most amazing stuff I've ever been apart ofπŸ’œ cheers you guys can't wait to see what's next!

I'll read this the first chance I get!

Hi everyone, thanks for all your feedback, input and support to help us craft the Alice: Asylum Narrative Outline. A couple of points; If you HAVE NOT read the V.1 document, we encourage fresh readers to read the V.2.1 document in its entirety. This is an improved version of the original. (And contains more artwork and brand new scenes. Bonus!) If you've already read the V.1 Outline released in August, as discussed on the live-stream yesterday, the key differences for the story in the V2.1 are listed very briefly at the back of the document in a Summary and Notes section. If you flip straight there, huge spoilers obviously, but it will help you see the larger areas of our new work. A lot of time has gone into actioning feedback that aligned with our own expectations as writers. We also addressed reoccurring concerns raised in your questionnaires submitted back to us. For those who did submit their feedback via the Questionnaires, have a read of the end page after the narrative. We've got one last question to ask you! We hope you enjoy the narrative experience for Alice: Asylum! We had a blast making it. A lot of work still to go, but now we have a lot of our pieces to play with outlined. For me personally, this has been one of the most rewarding, enjoyable and work-intensive experiences in my career. And I loved it. To write lines for the Cheshire Cat and have my imagination in Alice's and American's world is a dream come true for me. Massive thank you to American for allowing me to help shape his vision for Alice's third adventure alongside him. And a massive thank you to all the support and backing from the Patreon. We couldn't do this without you. Exciting times ahead as we dive into the next phases of the project. See you in the Design Bible posts!

The moment I've been waiting for is here at last - again! Time to save this down and get some drinks on hand for a relaxing Friday evening reading through this (I think a Black Russian or two this time). Thanks both to Alex and American for your work on the story and for so kindly sharing it with all the Insane Children.
