Verdant Hiatus
Added 2022-03-05 16:26:16 +0000 UTCAfter writing 2 pages in the last six weeks and having 3 emotional breakdowns over this, Laura and I sat down and had a long conversation. I have spent the better part of 4 years trying to make this story happen and it still has not come through to any conclusion. I've poured my heart and soul into this and I am going through some extreme burnout that makes it impossible for me to give it any of the focus it deserves.
I've come to the realization that I'm not enjoying it anymore. I'm looking at Verdant as a brutal obligation to finish that I'm getting nothing out of on a personal or emotional level. We realized it's been years since I've worked on anything else. No short stories, no fan fiction. I haven't even read any books. And I just don't have anything left to give this project.
I'm going to release the current chapters on Patreon. I'm sorry. I really am. But it's not going to do anyone any good to drag this out month after month if I can't offer up anything else. I need to take some time to reorient myself and focus on getting back to what I love doing. I'm not sure what's going to come of it, but I can tell you that I'll keep you updated as best as I can. I'm sorry to those I've disappointed, the people who have been around since Monster Brothel. I can only thank you for your support, your time, and your patience with me.
