Baer comes from a family line that has been chosen by a divine entity to protect the blessing that was given to them.
After the other nations stole a large part of the blessing, the royal family has taken a defensive position to take advantage of what little they had left of the crystals. Baer is no exception; he keep the people safe and provide what is necessary to advance as a nation.
Secretly, he is the leader of a rebel organization that seeks to recover the crystals.
Wait... rebels? rebels to whom? I thought he was the biggest power in the nation, who is he disobeying?
