Hello 2018!!!

Hey everyone, Ali here! I just wanted to give an update now that we're all entering 2018 together: a perfect time to reflect and look forward! 

Time is so weird. It's hard to know whether it's more surprising that we've only been doing this for five months or that we've been doing for five months already. "Well, if we make money off this one day" was a joke for so long and a pipe dream for even longer that now that it's happening it's like, oh, right. We'd talked about it so much, of course it'd happen one day. But that's different from it actually happening and that's way different than it being successful. I really can't thank you all enough for letting me look back on 2017—2017, of all years—and remember it as the year I started a business with my closest friends.

I also can't thank y'all enough for being incredibly chill and patient with us around fulfillment times with uh, basically everything. It was our first go around on juggling a holiday special and a patreon and well, the holiday season/GOTY/everything in between that I'm honestly kinda proud everything didn't completely fall apart, all things considered. But we owe you stuff, and its coming, and it's so cool that you've been so understanding. I try not to go overboard sending messages out because I don't want to hassle y'all, but I'm going to make a much better effort on being more transparent around the timelines and giving more heads up about delays. Thank you for not being more mad at me about it!  💖🙇

Clapcast is coming! Clapcast should be up tomorrow? If Clapcast isn't posted before 4 AM EST January 4th, boy howdy will I have some egg on my face. See you then.

Live at the Table

We owe you an episode from next month and it's coming! Like the November update said, we put a pause on polls for the end of the year but we're gonna play Primetime Adventures and its gonna be worth the wait. I don't think the extra catch up time should effect January's poll, but it could. This is your official heads up! 

Tips at the Table

No real updates here but remember you can send questions in to tipsatthetable@gmail.com! We only pull questions for the show from here, so if you ask a thing somewhere else and we refer you there, send it along! It makes it roughly a billion times easier for us to have it all in one place.

Postcards

Postcard people! I completely dropped the ball on not sending out a shipped notice for October's card and not sending an ETA on November's when it got delayed as much as it was and I'm sorry. The good news is that November's card is waiting to be picked up in my mailbox right now! United States people should see it this week and everyone else, probably two or three. If you don't see them by then, please reach out. I have extras, I want you to get what you paid for, I'm happy to make sure you get what's yours.

This goes for any month! I finally made a visual aid so people could report stuff missing without us both getting confused:

If you were charged $25 or more any of these months and you never got the corresponding postcard, please message me. 

For anyone who used to be at the $25 tier and had to decrease their pledge, I have the patreon data for each month even if the card is delayed so you'll get what you're owed! If you're worried about it, just send a message and I can double check and send you a message when the postcard goes out.

I don't want to spoil November's card, but I'll post an uploaded graphic when December's card goes out, and so on and so forth. It's so cool to see them all together! Janine is incredible.

Pushers

Oh, pushers. You are saints. You are so kind to us. In the last update, Austin teased something from me and Janine so you wouldn't have to wait too long for your next update and that was ah... maybe a day or two before my grandfather passed away. Whoops?? I still plan to do that thing and we'll probably send a more detailed message with timeline stuff to you all soon. 

Pala-dins

You should have gotten a message from me asking about your book choice this past month! If you're getting near that six month mark and think you should have gotten a message, give me a holler! We'll get it sorted.

January is gonna be... woohee. Twilight Mirage? Lemme tell ya. Wild stuff. Going from godspeed, glory to the holiday specials, to what's next.... woohee, you're gonna understand why we've been so busy. I feel like I've been teasing a thing without actually teasing it for so long but I really want it to be a surprise!!! Just, listen and hold this advice close to your heart: don't @ me, your podcast feed is supposed to be like that.

Oh god, wait, unless it isn't. People have been having trouble with Counter/WEIGHT 21/22 and I reached out to libsyn support for that so that should be fixed up soon. If you've noticed anything whacky with your RSS feed towards the end of December, we finally said goodbye to our podbean RSS feed. Some RSS catchers had an issue with this but unsubscribing and resubscribing to the libsyn link ( http://friendsatthetable.libsyn.com/rss) should make everything smooth again. If you're concerned that the lost C/W worldbuilding episode is truly lost: it isn't and still rests in the description for C/W 00, safe and sound.
