Hey everyone!
Happy new year, and welcome to the Road to Season 6. Join Austin, Dre, and Janine as they play Dialect, a game by Kathryn Hymes and Hakan Seyalıoğlu and fill in some of the gaps between the end of Twilight Mirage and the beginning of what comes next in the Divine Universe.
This one went LONG so I split it into two parts. The first part is us creating the setting (or "isolation," in Dialect's parlance) and our characters. The second is when the story kicks off.
Some high level notes:
1. There are some spoilers for TM/CW here, but they're minimal barring one major thing (the rise of a certain power at the very end of TM). No specific spoilers about the fate of characters or even the locations themselves really!
2. We use some names to describe parts of that big faction, but think about those as placeholder. Everything we say today is canon, but we def reserve the right to retcon things to help set the stage for Season 6 down the road a bit more!
Here are some Very Important maps that I reference at the top of this recording!
Here's what I assumed the map of COUNTER/Weight and the Twilight Mirage looked like, more or less.

But, as I explain, when I went to find a map to use to actually do this, I realized that the map I'd used during C/W's world gen was out of date. So: Here is the updated map of this universe, which is important because of where today's game (and, eventually Season 6) takes place!

Today's game of dialect takes place just to the southwest of the twilight mirage, at the furthest in section of what is called the Scutum–Centaurus Arm.
Finally, two notes on these maps, too:
1. This is not a snapshot of a single specific moment in time, it's sort of both settings together plus some expansion on some things said briefly (like the breadth of Kesh and Apostolos).
2. These aren't firm borders, more like "airspace" than actively controlled/colonized land. The bulk of the NEH is, for instance, much much closer to the center of the galaxy, and though it looks like the Diaspora and Oricon are butting up against each other, they actually can't cross the gap except for where there are what we caleld "star bridges" in C/W!
OKAY. That's it from us today. Hope you enjoy!
