Bluff City Movie Club: The Nice Guys

Hey everyone! Over the next week, we're going to be releasing a three-part series of posts, Bluff City Movie Club! With the first season behind us, we wanted to get together to talk about the season and some of our inspirations for it. These episodes feature these conversations basically unedited, so enjoy us hanging out and talking movies and whatever else comes up!!

This episode Jack, Janine and Keith will be talking The Nice Guys. Next, Austin, Dre and Art will cover Sneakers and then Austin, Ali and Andi will finish this mini-series with Streets of Fire.  (Each of these links lead to the trailer for each on YouTube.)

Jack, Keith and Janine take the time to go over The Nice Guys scene by scene, zooming in on what they liked and didn't like, so heads up if you haven't seen it and would prefer to watch it before listening! If you don't want to watch it, the trailer includes most of the scenes that they focused on, so you shouldn't be too lost going in blind.

Speaking of heads up: a warning for discussion of violence, injury/death, sex work and violence against women framed as sexy/attractive. 

I can't let this post go without acknowledging that this update is very late and you are all very nice so thank you so much for your support!! We've been in catch up mode for a... little bit, but now that a lot of the patreon fires have been tended to we really want to take the time to make each of the pusher posts is special and interesting for y'all! After this series of episodes we'll have: a look into the creation of the Bluff City postcard series and some demos from the finale, a (very secret!!!) re-imagining of COUNTER/Weight with specific framing in mind, checking back in with Dre's gunpla and Janine creating some dolls of her characters.
