Speaking of Kai and compression of DBZ, I was first introduced to DBZ through Team Four Star's Dragon Ball Z: Abridged. It was a truly weird way to enjoy the show.

2024-08-29 02:44:22 +0000 UTCHaving watched the German Dub of Dragon Ball Z when I grew up, I find these differences really interesting, because I only ever knew the "don't kill Vegeta, because I need him as a challenge" line. Also didn't Goku say almost the same thing about Piccolo at the end of original Dragon Ball? It's been around 25 years since I last watched those episodes.
