O... If your interested in Looking up Belegarth. Here is a quick link. http://www.belegarth.com/ I have great and fond memories of this sport. :)

When I played Belegarth. It's a Sport like Fencing. I Loved Using spears. Since I played like a Skirmisher. And if you need 2 hands to Hold the Spear(Or at least it's much easier on your arms to do so). That doesn't mean you need 2 hand to attack. For example. When I used a Pike. I would Hold it in 2 hands. But I would only use 1 hand to attack with the Pike. what I did is. I would rest the Pike with both hands. But only thrust with 1 hand. this would give me the Greatest reach with the Pike. Since my Back hand is the one I used to Thrust. and right after the thrust. I would Instantly Pull back the pike, Before it had time to Lean. And Bring it back to where I could Grab it with my Other hand. So the spear would be In rest. And not Make it hard on me or my arms. And this with me being a fast and Nimble Kid. I made a great Skirmisher. XD I don't need to use the Over hand or Under hand method. I guess Mine is at an angle to Side ways. Whatever feels Natural and Comfortable in how I hold it.

@Shad. Maybe I should Rephrase. Would you consider The Sword "Sting" from Lord of the Rings. To be a Leaf Shaped Greek Sword? Or would you call it some thing else?

I wonder if the off center grip would have allowed a hoplite to 'pool cue' with the spear a bit. If the hand is within a few inches of the edge, and the shield is held a bit obliquely, you just might be able to do that (not to open the over vs under hand debate again).

Is "Sting" one of the swords From Lord Of The Rings, a Leaf Shaped Greek Style sword?
