2025-08-01 11:25:33 +0000 UTCThe thing not gone over is that most of the magic (at least in western novels/game engines) is fairly short ranged. It'd be on par to shorter range than decent shots with pistol. With a rifle, you could pick off mages all day with impunity, much less the artillery mentioned in a previous comment. For sieges, something also not mentioned is that if this were a real medieval world with magic, they'd have siege specific magic and defenses.
