hiya, does someone here have a link to the item perhaps ? i am looking into it as a "project blade" (actually only interested in the blade itself to build myself a Sidesword Trainer), for that price with that tang ?

Same thing that's inside every sword, the internalized rage of a man weathered through the years by woman.

I bought this sword, but mine came with a wood scabbard that didn’t quit fit, and peened pommel

This is very interesting, I took the pommel off of mine and found something pretty different. I got one of the black ones, wood scabbard with the nasty pleather, and black cord wrap. I have since replaced the pleather with jb weld and canvas then painted it black.
I was only able to unscrew the pommel myself, it seems they have epoxied it together pretty well. but what is immediately apparent is that MY handle is made of wood. like definitely wood all the way up, I could even see it between the cords where it was loose.
As for the way the pommel was connected, mine was a bit worse. it had basically (wood handle) (washer) (nut) (stripped threads) (threads that were too small for the pommel) (epoxy to fill the gap) (pommel).
really not super great, but not hard for me to fix. its attached plenty securely that it wont be dangerous if the pommel falls off. and hell its still safer than my honshu broadsword that had the pommel snap off.
no doubt they ran out of handles (or the leather scabbards are different) and ordered some 3d printed ones to be able to keep selling blades. That said I would really like to see if the other two you ordered are the same. at first I just wanted this as a practice sword, but its honestly nicer than my honshu that was like 3x the price. so I kinda want to sharpen it and just get another.
really happy to see it has a proper tang, crazy. hope this lights a fire under the competition to stop making overpriced junk.
As a side note, I think a proper 3d print is more than strong enough for this. personally what I would do is split it into two pieces diagonally at like a 45 from the middle and print it in two pieces. then just glue that together and no more layer line weakness. a proper amount of walls and infill combined with a good wrap and thats more than enough. thats not even going into better materials. you could print it out of high durometer TPU (like 64d) at like 6 walls and it would be indestructible. no need for any gluing.
