The context around WWII katanas is absurd when you consider the fact that steel was being prevented from being imported by the United States, which was one of the major leading factors that led up to Pearl Harbor. That shouldn't exactly be the metric for quality of the weapons overall, when it was being forcibly stunted, for crying out loud.
