Difficlty in taking charge

The three of you had gathered around. One of your partners, Sam, held up a pocket watch, smiling, and began to speak in that sweet voice they had that wormed its way inside your heads. “That’s it, my good toys. Watch the pocket watch swing, and twirl, and. And…”
Your second partner, Charlie, took over, eyes still locked on, just like the other two of you. “Dancing before your eyes. Making them feel so heavy. Making your mind feel so… fuzzy. Fuzzy mind. Fog… fog… fogging over. That’s… It…” Their eyes were blinking.
You saw your chance, and, with great effort, forced yourself to speak. “Mind fogging over as. As… As the watch swings and. And. And sways… Swinging. Swaying.” It was so difficult to speak. Charlie leant forwards, eyelids fluttering. It looked like they would topple.
You had stopped speaking. Each of you were lost in your own hypnotic reveries. Fuzzy minds and bodies dissolving, as the watch continued to swing. Then Charlie finally snatched the watch, downwards, dropping downwards, and that’s just what you and Sam did.
