2022-12-01 08:44:15 +0000 UTCSometimes you pull a core memory out of me and I am simultaneously crushed with loss and elated that someone else finds a similar memory important enough to share it with the world. My Mamaw LOVED hellbenders and told us tales of giant, 4ft long salamanders and how mining made so many disappear. We never knew if she was pulling our leg about the size...She also had us convinced that she made snack cakes and individually packaged them just like Little Debbie so they'd be fresh when we came over and she hadn't had time to bake something big. I think that those stories are the reason I have a dozen snakes and about 15 other reptiles here in the house :-)
