Riesenloch es una pequeña ciudad situada dentro de un enorme cráter a cuyo fondo apenas llega la luz del sol. Sus escarpados bordes se suman a las torres circundantes para proporcionar protección frente a los bárbaros que intentan robar el agua de la ciudad. El pequeño lago del fondo es la única fuente permanente de agua en cientos de leguas a la redonda y todos los habitantes del desierto de ceniza quieren hacerse son ella.
