Important Note

09/17 Update: Hey everyone. I’m finally able to update now that my phone has a steady connection. Unfortunately, my house has flooded again. I’m alright, and most things were taken off low levels and were spared, but 7 inches of rather gross water were soaked into the baseboards, floors, and walls.

I’m still without power here and hoping that gets restored soon. I’m gonna work my hardest to get things back to normal and back to work. But, honestly, I hope my days in this house are coming to an end soon.

09/14 Update: The estimated rainfall totals have steadily increased since this time yesterday, more than doubling to nearly 13 inches according to the mostly-accurate European model.  That total would be spread over the course of three days, so... provided it doesn't rain 3 or 4 inches in one hour, I should be okay where I am.

It's all just a guess at this point, though.  I will be taking precautions like putting my systems on top of tables and protecting other things that are normally on the floor.

Hi there, guys.  I hope that you're all doing well.

There's a tropical storm / hurricane (Sally) that is currently heading my way and it's not looking very good for me.  When it makes landfall sometime Monday morning, it's projected to slow to a crawl and remain in my area for 2 to 3 days, dumping heavy rains the entire time.

I'm extremely concerned that it might flood here again.  I've lived through two in my city and nearly a third time last year.  I can hope that it won't again, but I have to face the likelihood that it may.

I'm not exactly sure how this will impact this month's project.  I'm pretty far along in it, but it's impossible to finish in a day or two, in case something happens.  I may end up in a hotel again for a while and I'm really uncertain what will happen.

I apologize for this; I'm rather scared, to be honest, but even more than that, I never want to disappoint any of you.
