Quick Note: Regarding Patreon Subs Through iOS
Added 2024-08-13 00:38:34 +0000 UTCHey there. You might've gotten an e-mail today about the iOS app version of Patreon and the 30% cut that Apple is demanding for subscriptions made through the app.
If you're already signed up via the iOS/iPadOS app, nothing will change. If you are subscribed via the app and cancel/resubscribe or change tiers after November, an extra 30% will apply.
The sub prices will stay the same through browser or the Android app.
Going forward, make sure that you subscribe/change tiers through your browser (Safari on iPhone/iPad should avoid the fee) or the Android app. You should still be able to use the iOS app to visit, comment, etc, but subscriptions via it are the problem. 😓
I hate situations like this and always want to make it as easy as possible for you. Thanks so much for you guys' support.

If people don't protest this (they complain if Microsoft so much as breathes, but they let Apple get away with all kinds of BS), it won't be long before Google get emboldened to do the same and the FCC will already be too late for letting Apple do it first.
