Sul-sul! I'm back with another quick update on how I'm spending my modding time this week.

Grandfather Clock

As you probably saw, the Grandfather Clock got finished this week! You can check out the mod itself here, but fixing it up took a bit of time this week. I was really excited that I managed to get it to tell time, so I thought I would share about how in case it's useful to any other cc creators. :)

The clock has 12 Geometry States, which are essentially different meshes for the same object. The dollhouse for instance uses GeoStates to change from being normal to smashed. With each GeoState, the hour hand moves. Then you can set an Object State Value which will set the object to different states on interaction.

Even better, object tunings have an optional time_of_day_component where you can have the state change automatically at different times of day.

Finally, to make the minute hand move and the pendulum swing, I added an idle animation component and created an animation which the clock will play automatically. Since the minute hand resets every hour, there's no need to change the clock hands to move differently.

There is also a chiming sound effect which is attached to the beginning of the idle animation clip, which allows the clock to chime on the hour. 🕰️😊

French Horn

For the French Horn, I've been focused on the animations. I made a very simple rig so that the valves will actually animate! The more objects like this I do the easier the process is. I still need to sort out the specular maps and create all of the music tracks, but this one is well on track to be completed by the end of the month.

Regency Update

Now that I have a base for how the regency dances can be made, I've started work on the group animations. Progress on this was smaller this week as I'm focused on finishing up April's mods, but still chugging along and trying to work ahead where I can. :)
