[ Archived ] Sketch: "Jasmine's BE"

March 2020

very high res: 6000 x 4500 px
high res: 3000 x 2250 px
low res:  1700 x 1417 px

Idea inspired from will's Commission entry:

An update/sequel to a single frame you did a while back. It was Aladdin wishing for Genie to make Jasmine's breasts bigger. But this time make her breasts at least body size, or bigger, with a frontal side view like in the original, maybe some ripped clothing. Please and Thank you!

A BE parody.

Glamorous? Probably not. Fun? It actually can be. I originally wanted to be an illustrator, but decided graphic designers were in higher demand when I went to college (School of Visual Arts in NYC). I really enjoy graphic design, and have come to seriously appreciate things such as typography (which I have to credit a professor at SVA with instilling it in me). Graphic design is an artistic way of being a teacher — an "information architect" as designer Richard Saul Wurman has said. A good designer understands the message that needs to be conveyed, and understands their design should do so as clear as possible to the message's audience. On top of that, the range of clients can be huge, which keeps things interesting! I’ve worked on major projects for children's disease foundations, high-end real estate firms, natural pharmaceuticals, lifestyle magazine covers, energy investors, international dance foundations, employment lawyers, off-broadway actors, plays, cultural film centers, and a foundation that supports ideas from underrepresented people as some examples.

Not exactly a glamorous job nor all that fun, I'd imagine, but definitely a necessity. I suspect that there will always be a plethora of companies needing something along those lines. It is a shame, though, that you don't often get to do much "professional" illustration. At least you get to flex your creative muscles here, though!

Actually, I don't do a lot of illustration in my "real life" work ( wish I did). When I do, it's usually charts, logos, icons. Other than that, standard graphic design, photo retouching, and website design.

It's interesting to see you branch out and do other art styles from your norm. If you don't mind me asking, how varied in style does your "real life" work get?
