grOw/cinema 1, Episode XIX, previews 1 & 2

Previews from the first 2 pages of the next project. Yes, that is Carl. 😁

For the next release, I will temporarily be jumping back to "The Ever-Expanding Universe" and the exploits of Carl for one issue. I had always said that I may be doing this during the production of "grOwing to a Crescendo".

I decided to do this now for a few reasons:
β€’  Many have continued to ask me when I would return to cinema 1.
β€’  It's been a year since the last release of cinema 1 (Episode 18 on Jan 8, 2021).
β€’  I need a little boost since the sales of cinema 2 are 30-35% lower than cinema 1 (ouch).
β€’  Though I have a good outline for Episode 4 of "grOwing to a Crescendo", I want more time to let it simmer in my mind so that I can make it better before embarking on writing and producing it. Episodes 1-3 have established the story concept, and the next few issues will now deeply explore the world of the characters.

I love everything you make so no complaints from me. Any idea how long this issue will be?

Loxz

Cinema 1 has had 18 issues and a cast of thousands (OK, maybe tens) and is cliffhangingly episodic. Cinema 2 is just beginning and is working on a full, closed story arc. :-)

BustArtist

Glad the story has grabbed you. :-) SO much MORE to come!

BustArtist

Thanks!

BustArtist

I have no idea! XD

BustArtist

Not critical at all. In fact, your first paragraph describes the 2 series as they were INTENDED. :-) "Cinema" is only the format (movie-like screen; dialogue outside the art). It's not the type of story. And, yes, cinema 2 has only had 3 episodes and will definitively finish around 8 or 9, so it has a full story arc to build. Cinema 1 is meant to mimic those old-timey serial movies (like "Flash Gordon") which always ended in cliff hangers and the feeling of "what will our hero do next?!" Thanks for coming along both rides!

BustArtist

I will be going back and forth. I WILL finish cinema 2, and I think it will pay off big. Thanks for coming along for the ride. Love the idea of the Excel file β€” I think I need it myself for cinema 1, as I was forgetting some character names! XD

BustArtist

what a pity! now that they started GTS in Cinema 2 but i understand that you have to look on your wallet. Btw, Gr0w 5 is the best to have a sequel because it has so much big potential P.S. I create an excel file with every character in the Bustartist cinema/comic/stories and it would be create a link for every work that Bustartst draw, it would be awesome "The BE-verse"

I’m hoping that the hint of Boson and Higgs β€œusing” Carl and Carl himself being far less discreet is looked into more, especially as he’s been naked for half of cinema 1 (which I don’t mind to be honest). I’m hoping for more situations involving women older than Carl, i.e. Vera and the teachers. Perhaps a visit to the teachers’ lounge? And more adventures in the outside world is very interesting!

Happy to see the return of Cinema #1! While I do have some interest in how Cinema #2 will go, I did enjoy the original more. The thing for me is "grOwing to a Crescendo" feels like it's trying to be more serious than "The Ever-Expanding Universe". I liked the original more because of it's concept, it's just some lucky guy with reality altering powers getting to use them for various sexual adventures. There isn't anything grander going on, it's simply just that. There's also a different flow between Cinema #1 and Cinema #2. In Cinema #1, almost all the episodes end in some kind of cliffhanger that the following episode would continue immediately from. It's exciting to think about "What is Carl going to do next?" or "Oh that character is back! Last time this happened, how much crazier will things get now?". It's a continuous rise (although there are some moments where things are calmer, but that's okay). For Cinema #2, it feels more like each episode has it's own individual flow. Sorry if this sounds a bit critical. I'm definitely just rambling at this point, could probably write an entire essay if I had to haha. It's a bit unfair comparing one story that has 18 episodes to another that has 3 and is still being fleshed out, so I'm still interested in the newer series. You are my favorite artist and have an amazing art style. I'm excited to see what lies ahead!

Cinema 1 set up so many interesting characters with interesting abilities, I'm glad to see it will be revisited sometimes. I'm a fan of Nayesha in particular :D I feel like Cinema 2 will get there eventually. The way the magic system in Cinema 2 does have me interested in seeing how that element plays out over various expansion scenes.

All this support for #1, which is great. But the story for #2 has me hooked. The powers and everyone eagerness to grow hits me fooken HARD

"an inconvenient grOwth" was set-up to specifically be a "slow-growth" series. :-) I'm glad it achieved that for you.

BustArtist

I understand. It's a different type of storyline. I've always called cinema 1 a "dessert", whereas cinema 2 is a "meal." :-) Also, issue one had to set up the world, as previous issue 1's have had to do.

BustArtist

Yes. It's one of those things that can creep up on you in an enticing way.

BustArtist

Thanks for the $upport. Cinema 2 will be featuring more of what you like in coming issues, as only hinted at in Episode 3. ;-)

BustArtist

As the beginning of "Season 2" of cinema 1, this will begin the transition from college campus to more of the outside world... including a multi-issue focus on Holly.

BustArtist

Really hoping for more cumflation! Didn't know how much I liked it until you started it in this series!

Bgtts051187

Not gonna lie, I really prefer cinema 1. Mainly because it has more GTS. But whatever you release, I’ll buy it to support you, BA!

Marcio Chaves

Good grief, has it already been a whole year? Where did it all go?

That New Shoe Smell

Awesome job.

Grand Funk Master Chief Ricardo MontalbΓ‘n Phon Con 14

I had expected that where the story was going, it would have gone over to Holly’s story. There were all those teases at the end, I figured we were going to have Carl meet her, or see how she handled having such powers.

Just adding to the chorus here - I'm really happy to see grow/cinema 1 returning. I've followed you for many years and it's my favorite thing you've ever done.

purplish

For me, it's not just the growth, it's the *reality revision*, the way his changes propagate back into the past. It hits kinks I didn't realize I had, in a way that I just don't see in porn very often. It certainly doesn't hurt that the series has also started to reach peak escalation.

While I have enjoyed your work for a very long time, it does seem these recent releases have had a sped up expansion scenes. The β€œan inconvenient grOwth” comic has always been my favorite. But I have enjoyed the Belly and Butt additions in recent releases. But I still plan on buying this next release.

Hooligan

Simple with Carl there is no limit to the growth and no hustle to advance the plot. It is god mode in real life. GTA San Andreas and Skyrim with the invulnerability cheats.

nitste

I will admit while I purchased the first issue of Cinema 2, it didn’t quite spark with me like the previous story.
