hi.
i've spent the last few months cataloguing everything i have ever released publicly on every platform.
i have been doing this in preparation for cataloguing all my music in one place, specifically on my vylet pony website. some examples of my tests for this have been here and here .
additionally, it's been a long time coming that i really organize and clean up my platforms. i have marked many releases as retcon or redundant, and they will not appear on the canon catalogue. over time, i will be removing things that are not a part of the canon catalogue and making them available through a discreet legacy music portfolio. so, they will not be on my main platforms anymore, but will be available as a collection of free songs. most of the thing in the legacy collection aren't really popular or even all that known. but i will maintain their availability in this way for the few people who still want them.
so. i will be using the canon catalogue to keep track of everything, setting the foundation for what the vylet pony body of work is. it will provide the most up-to-date information and data about everything. i've used it to assign release codes to every canon release, and will use it to maintain the continuity of release codes for every future project. as information shifts and more data comes in, it will be updated. more features will be added for more interesting data analysis. for v2.0, i hope to add information about when a song was started and when it was completed for as many releases as possible!
oh. this means a lot of things that were previously missing from places like spotify and apple music will be added. things such as "#ponyhype" and "fall to the clouds" will be available outside of the compilation format! i will be eventually phasing out the majority of compilation efforts in favour of just having the original releases. originally i shoved everything to compilations because i didn't like the songs. now, i am just ok with having them around.
as for songs considered retconned, please respect my wishes about that! a lot of the songs i've made in my teen years, i am just not interested in promoting them at all. i have grown a lot, my values and beliefs have shifted, and my priorities — especially my desire to promote a positive artistic outlook on life — have changed so much. i have kept a lot of things i'm not proud of, do not approve, and outright hate for as long as i can. but i really would rather grow from the past and not humour it.
anyway, i hope you find this spreadsheet interesting! bookmark it, because it will be the primary means of cataloguing and organizing releases and information! thank you <3
