Red's Weekly Update

Hello everyone! This week's visual news is short and sweet, the video above shows the new particle effect I made for the player's shots colliding with everything else. I studied the source material very closely to try to replicate it. Should work well enough. :) 

Still experimenting with how exactly I want to code the dialogue scenes. There might not be much to show for a little bit, but once it's done that will be a huge step forward for this project. I'll do my best to keeping adding some smaller visual updates like this effect, just so there's some new stuff to look at.

Next up, announcing the winner of this month's request contest! First, I want to mention that next month I plan to get the entries and winner decided a bit sooner so I'm not rushing to get it done at the end of the month, especially since this time around I have to put in some extra work for my "real job" that means I might not get it done in time. 

Anyway, without further ado, the winner of this month's request contest is: Bones!

I think I'll keep their actual request a bit of a secret for now, but suffice it to say I found it to a be really interesting challenge of crossing a classic pinup style with something not typically associated with it. The results may be, dare I say, magickal?

Speaking of the request sketches, I haven't forgotten about the recording I made for the previous one. I've pretty much processed the video, I just haven't had a good time to record the voiceover. I'll try to get that done within the next couple weeks, but if I'm not able to I'll just upload the video as is, and maybe just add some quick subtitles instead of voiceover.

Last but not least: I realized that my Mars vs Akuma drawing has really been sitting on the back-burner. Unfortunately this will probably continue to be the case for a little while. I'm physically moving to a new living space in the next few weeks, and I consider the stuff I previously mentioned to be a little higher priority. But! I haven't forgotten about it and I can't wait to have some more time to draw out the rest of that little scenario I have in my head. Soon.
