Reaction

Why such a negative reaction to the previous character? I thought people wanted experiments and I'm trying to do them.

I have never been against anime characters, I just don't like all of them, but only some.

Comments

No idea, it looks great 👍 thank you for all your hard work Steven

Zara S

I for one am all for "experiments"

AiviA

Yeah I thought the negative reaction was weird. I enjoyed it.

Jayman1994

I think the anime style does not work with 3D. The body is more realistic but the face is anime, it ends up looking strange for me.

Aspyr

Someone said that the head is too small. I'll try to make it bigger and see what happens

StevenCarson

I personally wasn't familiar with the character. Though after looking it up, I can see that it's pretty accurate

Ricky

I know that people have different tastes.

StevenCarson

Because it's not Seong-Hui Just kidding I didn't mind it. But I think anime style looks kind of unnatural in 3d.

Jem

I'm ok with it, maybe they would look weird next to a more non anime model maybe.

Gixxian

i really liked it! I'm always excited to see what amazing work you come up with next, and this one was just that, exciting and different! Keep it up and keep doing you C:

Lilith Lovelight

It looks like NOTHING I am interested in. Don't like anything about it. Your regular work is the best out there. This.. is not even interesting

Conscious Gentile

It was really different from the stuff you normally do. And it was very unexpecting. The extreme anime girl face on the bodies you usually create made the character a little uncanny. BUT Please don’t think that this is bad criticism. It was exciting to see you do something different and I wanna see you experimenting with this kind of stuff. Variety is really great and I want to see more from this character in this style. Plus One picture is not enough to judge weather this approach is good or not. But please keep trying new things if you like it.

Toon Boy

No idea. Looks good.

collection8585

Steven,

Carl Kincheloe

I didn't say it was rude. I'm interested in the reasons, but nothing more.

StevenCarson

Dang, sorry if some people were too negative, SC! I hope you don't stop experimenting and trying new things! Change can be jarring to some, but I hope everyone can at least be respectful and constructive with their criticism, if/when they have it.

Jimmyjam

I like all of your work.

Murph

Personally I liked it, I thought it was a cool shift in style. You do you guy!

Luke Volkert

I'm a big fan and I like the anime style. It was a little bit of a surprise but a good one. Artist need to experiment from time to time and if anime is your way of testing waters or just a change of pace then I fully support you and your creative efforts. Keep up the great work!

GraphicBrat

Don't worry too much about it SC. In this case I am in fact sure that it was really just some vocal minority. Most of your fans love your art even when you are trying to experiment with new ideas. I certainly do like it.

GotMilk

I didn't say anything though I didn't like it either. I don't mind anime faces, but its face and hair did look very low quality and a large contrast between the rest of its body. Perhaps if the face texture were improved, at the very least the lips (perhaps darker and better texture) and it were given a realistic hair it might look better. Some experimentation might be in order if you wanna try stuff in that direction. Though generally people will probably be more receptive of realistic looking faces, but anime characters should be popular - like Android 18, Mikasa Ackerman, etc.

Futa Lord

It's not rude to say you don't like something dude....

Tidus1337

Do what you like, Steven. Some people are always going to be rude. You can't please everyone, so just please yourself with your work and I think most your audience will be happy.

ToxicCG3D

People have their own preferences.

Chunguses

I guess I'm one of the haters. I simply posted "I don't like it" because I don't. I know you try new things all the time and I love most of it but not this time. If other people may like it and it may be the direction you want to go in but its not my thing.

Red Kawa

Well the reason is pretty simple. Some people aren’t used to change. And the people who voiced a criticism probably don’t like anime girls and that’s just their personal taste. Some ppl find anime girl heads on realistic bodies cringey. Others love that kind of thing. Looking through the comment section, a lot of ppl love it as well as have anime avatars so they seem into that sort of thing. So you can’t always please every single person when your a successful artist and have tons of subscribers. Just do what makes you happy and the quality will show in your art 👌

Robert D.

I personally wasn't the biggest fan of how her face looked, but I don't think that's a reason to stop experimenting. When you start exploring new ground, sometimes you'll land on things people don't like, and sometimes you'll land on something people do like. The important thing is to not give up and learn from every experimental picture you make.

CassFan

Don't listen to the haters. She looks great! You just keep doing what you've been doing. If you wanna get even further out there, I'd like to suggest Alice Liddell from American McGee's Alice. Think Alice in Wonderland, only much MUCH darker. Make her look hot, shrink that dress and apron down to a skin tight little nothing. Make the striped tights into striped thigh-high stockings. Make the buckle boots into stiletto buckle boots. Add big titties and a long thick cock and Glenn is a VERY happy man. Also, you wouldn't need to worry about the Disney aspect. Alice isn't originally by them. She was originally seen in 1865, well before Disney. “But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked. “Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” “How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice. “You must be,” said the Cat, “or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Glenn McLintock

Well, he actually did Kai'Sa from League of Legends not long ago as well. I personally LOVE the diversity and branching out. I'd LOVE to see Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, or any of the others as well. Jinx with a huge cock and fat tits? Sign me up. Scenes with Caitlyn and Vi getting together? Sign me up for that as well.

Glenn McLintock

Probably because it’s the only character we’ve seen from you that is pretty close to anime in her facial features. I thought she looked great! Keep experimenting. I’m surprised people didn’t like her, initial reactions seemed very positive & surprised - ppl just need to grow up lol

Cotovatre

I liked it you keep doing what you enjoy.

Sanguinius1701

The face and body are a bit of a mismatch. I didn't mind it, but I can see why some people wouldn't be into it.

Fuji

I didn't like Seong-Hui when she first came out...now I definitely do! Just need to keep posting more art of them and people will eventually come around to it.

Billy Joe

I think the anime character face to the realistic looking body is what is throwing people off maybe if the body had a more cartoony appearance with the curves and proportions but that's just my opinion

J T

Nah Mate, keep doing what you want to do. Also, may I suggest some Azur Lane Characters if you decide that you want to do some Anime Characters, they already come equipped with BIG assets

RettichDerGeile

F%ck da haterzzz!!!

Hey Steven. I hadn't commented previously on the Shionne pic. I got kind of an uncanny valley reaction from it, so it wasn't my cup of tea, but glad you're trying new things.

Dorian Alton

Pitching in to say that I liked it

B

Honestly, whether or not people like it, it's your art. Sometimes you have to try pushing in new directions to discover boundaries and attempt to go beyond them and expand your abilities. It may not always work, it may not always be popular, but it will help you grow. I'd be worried if I didn't try new things, feeling that it might get stale and I'd eventually grow tired of the whole thing. I love your work and enjoy seeing the things you create!

M V

I do not know yet. i don't have much experience with anime characters and i will probably change something in shionne

StevenCarson

I liked it

NarutoPASS5

It is probably just such an unexpected turn. I think it's fine and wouldn't mind seeing more. But I also enjoy anime where some of your fans may enjoy the realism you typically provide.

don't let them kill your vibe, Steve! You should do what you like first, and everything else second. No matter how some might react, you can't please everyone everytime and it's fine!

Nero Julie

Since you are willing to do a full on anime character would you consider giving Sorceress another go with a more stylized face?

Balbaroy

Your style doesn’t really work with anime features imo. If you want to use anime characters, try giving them a realistic look. I think that would work better

AT

I would love to see more variety and I hope that the negativity doesn't stifle your creativity

DaBootyNachos

Can't understand why either, I like it anyway.

lanxfr

I think that it was fine. Experimenting can always yield varying results. There will always be those who are opposed to change

DaBootyNachos

I personally loved it

xFireAssasin

be calm, I don’t exactly know what you feel, but I think it’s normal that people provide negative opinions when you experiment something unusual. Their words might be too mean and unfair though and it’s not your fault

Issac Sun

I didn't like the character myself but I wouldn't leave unconstructive negative feedback unless you ask for opinions. You will never please every person with every single post, but there is so much greatness to see on this page it doesn't matter to me if there are some posts that are not suited to my tastes. Please keep doing what makes you happy to make.

Sourcefan

its good to listen to your subscribers sometimes, but i think you do that plenty already. sometimes people on the internet just complain. not everyone is mature or etc. Don't worry about people who complain loudly if you try something new or explore new areas of your art that YOU want to do. That's not their place to tell you not to or to cry about it. Please don't let them bother you too much or worry about it too much -- this is just how people on the internet can be sometimes. I think you always do a great job and i have no complaints about your work.

frosty jojo

I think its great to have a little veraiety in your content and she defenetly looks very nice

Ancario

Personally I think you did great on it. It's out of the ordinary but it certainly not bad work at all. Forget the haters, you're work is amazing.

Aria

I don't know, I really like the new artwork

Gameboy274

I didn't check the comments but I personally enjoyed it and like experiments. That's said, it was a bit of a departure from what you normally do so it's natural some people will respond negatively. They probably just feared that you're changing your art style altogether which is silly.

Not gonna lie. I really loved the last Post. And seeing New stuff from you is also great

Algaart

Ignore the haters

I was ok with it, it was hot lol
