The January Conundrum

Hello, dear supporters. I have been worried for a few weeks about making the announcement for the new comics to be released in January, but I guess I have to talk about it sooner than later… The truth is, I still couldn't balance things after the decision to release 2 comics a month. Ever since October, when I decided that, I have been starting new projects and hoping to catch up soon, which still didn't happen. February is looking good, though. Right now I have 16 comics in production, but none of them are completed yet. The most advanced ones are the 4 in the image below, all of which should be ready by January 15th, but not before. The thing is, I have to chose 2 for January and start the editorial and lettering processes, which are done by me. They are in different stages of production, because each artist works in a different manner and have a particular workflow. So I decided to bring the subject to you, the more interested parts on this theme. Should I split the decision with you and make a poll about which two I should focus my energy on a start on the lettering? Should I wait for a couple of more days and see if the artists advance a bit more and give me a hint on which two will get completed first? Any ideas? I'll have to make a decision during this weekend. So if you want to help me get that answer, feel free to comment below. Thank you all for your support! I'm all for waiting, because I know it will be worth the wait.

I am already prone to my two selected comics at this point. I'm just waiting if my artists give me any new feedbacks before tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I'll just make a decision and start working on the new releases for January. And thanks for the incentive, GD. Ultimate Jess is really exciting to develop. I've been having a lot of fun on letting her fully express her natural overssexualized personality.

Thanks for that trust, Hivedragon. I will make my decision tomorrow based on all those aspects: Patrons interest, development stage, effort amount and above all, the feeling in my gut.

It took me a while to realize you weren't asking for opinions on what to go first yet, just asking if you should. I feel like I agree with Hivedragon: go with the one that causes less stress. (But srs, I really most want the ones involving Mega-Slut Jessica. ^_^)

I rather wait a bit for a good product then a rushed sloppy one. So I say take it easy a none stressed mind is a creative mind, just finish the one's that close to finish and that would be one headache less.

Hivedragon

I agree with you. I really think this is a very temporary situation and things will be on a smoother track very soon in 2015. The sudden and swift rapid success with so many supporters did some mess with my schedule, but it also allowed me to plan ahead for a whole semester of content. I'm building this all as we go along. For that, a few errors and miscalculations are bound to happen. But I'm really trying to keep my risks as low as possible and make sure the content start to come steadily for the next months.

I am sorry that it's gotten so confusing, i put in my votes alrese, mainly based on everything that is closest to being done which happen to be a personal preference. Just know this isn't exactly a bad deal for you and the artist you're working with though it seems rough right now. I say that as now you're for sure not gonna run out of cotent for 8 months. This gives you time to mentally recharge and focus on new ideas and also gather reactions and plan accordingly.

I am particularly looking forward to all 4 of them. =) But it's nice to know of the personal interest of the supporters as well. I wish this decision was entirely based on preference though. But the main question now is about logistics. And that's the least fun part of my whole project. =\

I have to say that I looking forward to Spidercest and spidey/BlackCat

Although my table is actually accurate on the data, it is mostly there for illustration of info rather then helping a decision to be made. Because it doesn't actually reflect the speed of each artist's work. With that being said, I'd agree the safest guess is the Black Cat in Prison story. It's all inked up and I can safely letter it, like I did for the two releases of the previous month. About Xurcolor, he is in fact only one page behind on each artist (inking the last inked page delivered). For that, if the inks start coming faster from one of the artists, he could just focus on that comic at any point. And finally, The latest info I got from Cheese-Ter is that the comic should be completely colored before the 31st, but I think he might be a bit optimistic about it, with the holiday season around the corner, and all... I'll be posting a few previews of the inner pages of these comics later today. I feel really bad about not being able to balance all this yet. But I really am working hard to make this a very rare exception from now on. Thanks again, Vervalsen.

Tracy Scops

If I'm reading your table right, its likely that Black Cat in Prison will likely be finished first, but the 2nd is a bit up in the air, although you could probably increase art production speed by focusing Xurcolor on one of the projects on the left, such as Moist Fur and sticky web. That being said, its probably a good idea to wait in my opinion so you have more information to work with before making your decision.

Vervalsen

I have Spidercest written until #10, and then it should go into a hiatus. At this exact point, any selection I make among these 4 stories is a shot in the dark (regarding the release date). I was even considering doing an extra push and do my side of the things for the 4 of them before the 31st, but that still doesn't solve the part I consider more important: Letting you guys decide which comics you want and even if you want any of the selections for this month. That's why I'm postponing my final word to Monday. To let you guys understand that there's not a "safest option" but rather a "best guess". I hope you all understand that I'm very sorry for not being able to make things smoother on the releases yet, but I feel that being honest with you is the best I can do at this point. Thank you for your patience with me.

Tracy Scops

Part of me is strongly tempted to just immediately suggest that you finish the ones for which I have the most interest. I will say that since I've joined, there's been a Spidercest every month, and it would almost feel odd if one wasn't in production. That being said, I'd be most in favor of creating a poll. I realize this might be a bit rougher on your side of things, but it would certainly be of most appeal to us as readers and patrons.
