So I wanted to wait until I read through the entire novel before posting a comment, and all I can say is that you have really succeeded in writing a new book that kept my interest without relying on it being set in the Forester Universe. And this is a really fascinating fictional world I want to live in (in the same way I’d like to live in Middle Earth or Supernatural). In all honesty, this is what Netflix’s “Bright” SHOULD have been; have a solid story with well-written characters who aren’t created solely for the themes. And while this novel does make allusions to some racism IRL, with the ‘extras’ facing various forms of discrimination, the focus is more on Jae and his personal problems. The plot itself is so well-compacted that I’m hoping you could make a sequel or a spin-off novel. Hell, why not do what you did with Waterways and make a Wolftown Universe? The possibilities are endless! :) Either way, I’m really glad I read this, Mr. Gold.
