This story was simple, sweet and not. Wish there was more sex as it was very good, but the art was just so beautiful I didn't care.

COMIC REVIEW: Maximum Carnage I'm only a casual fan of Spidey. I think I mentioned this before, but it bears repeating. I read your Spidey parodies because they take place in my favorite comic book multiverse, rather than out of any particular attachment to Spider-Man in particular. I also read them because they are some of the most entertaining and consistently well-written erotic comics I've come across, no pun intended. There are many times that I wish you were doing X-Men or Avengers parodies instead. The X-Men in particular, since they were my gateway into comics. So I don't comment very often, and I'm behind on my reading due to real-life concerns, but I do have every issue and want to give you feedback on them eventually. I'm just...lazy, I apologize. Back to Spidey, however - my Spidey reading has been more off than on over the years. I have never read the entirety of the original Maximum Carnage story and it's been years since I've read the few parts of it I have, so I wasn't that familiar with Shriek's character beyond her look. I knew of Doppelganger primarily from the Infinity War crossover. And Carnage...once upon a time, I had his first appearances, but I sold them along with most of my Spidey books. I am a fan of symbiotic infection stories though, so I've always had a soft spot for Venom/Carnage related porn images. The character dynamics are always a highlight of your titles, but here they shine through particularly well, even without being familiar with the characters. Shriek and Doppelganger's mother/son relationship, though largely mental, was simply delicious and when you throw in Carnage as "Daddy" as well, let's just say that I can't really blame Shriek's therapist for being aroused to the point of wild abandon. Speaking of Shriek's therapist, I can't help but feel just the tiniest hint of Harley Quinn's origin story in the way she loses control and begins to feel for her patient. Corruption can be such fun! Ultimately, this title serves as a delightfully dark diversion from the sweet fun and games of the Spidercest series, and although I admit I was disappointed that the Maximum Carnage themed issue did not feature Firestar getting used by Carnage and Doppelganger, that disappointment quickly faded when I got into the story. More like this, please!

While I did enjoy the artwork tremendously the murder and violence were difficult. While I can't say that I was sexually aroused by this comic I can say I was impressed by the artwork, and the story was pretty interesting. Showing what a real carnage might do given the capabilities and mind set he had. Though that did go towards killing and murder which for me are turn offs. I don't really regret reading the comic I just regret expecting arousal from it. I might read it every so often just for the story and artwork though.

Nice to see one of Spidey's few female villains get a turn.

Cognitive dissonance. That, or something like it is what is at the crux of my enjoyment of this comic. I was a 90s kid. While I was aware of comics before this, it was during this era that I was buying the most comics, and therefore the era that I remember best. That means that as a Spider-Man fan, that one of the biggest storylines was Maximum Carnage. Though time has forgotten (or killed) many of the players involved, I still remember the cast of characters like it was yesterday. I was there for the creation- and sometimes deaths - of names like Doppleganger, Carrion, Demogoblin, Shriek, and even the lamented D-list superhero Nightwatch (which some claim was an attempt to cash in on Spawn). But I digress. Which brings us to now. As anyone who pays attention will know well by now, the inclusion of villians (particularly villians like Carnage) into my porn tends to set off large red flags for me for understandable reasons. I'm kinky, but not that kind of kinky. But there is also a difference in the way my mind categorizes this particular story. See, with most Marvel porn (and Tracyverse in particular) I often can't really reconcile the way people are behaving in reference to what I know of them. And for the most part, that's fine. These men and women are being filthy, kinky sluts, every last one, and because of the way it is framed, I enjoy the hell out of it. In part, I want the characters to be this way (which I'll get into more when I cover Jackpot Cougar) I want them to be having perverse fun and pleasure, and orgasms galore. But I also keep that separate from my regular canon. TS's Maximum Carnage fucks (heh) with that dynamic. When I read this story, I don't see a separate story from the original crossover. I believe every inch that this was something that the First Family of Carnage *actually did*. Carnage and Shriek are anarchists, and exactly the sort to revel in taboo-stabbing sex. The stuff that TS alludes to but won't show is part of what drives that home. The artist was perfect for this story, and helped bring it alive for me. And I can even believe Kafka's response to it. Not because I dislike her, or think she's a horrible person... but because A) she's a person like anyone else, and will have drives and kinks, and B) because this cleaves right to one of the central aspects of one Frances Barrison aka Shriek - her power to unlock dark desires in others. That is why her own enjoyment of what happened wasn't killed by the admission of rape and murder - Shriek's own power likely allowed Kafka's mind to gloss over the ugly bits in favor of the rest (that's how I see it, anyway.) So, did I enjoy the comic? Hell yes. Will I actually fap to it? Eh..... jury's still out on that one. Shriek isn't around to affect *my* brain, and I have a harder time getting around the uglier aspects, even if the sex as depicted was 100% consensual. I will say that I want to see more of this regardless of my misgivings, and if at all possible, use the same artist!
