I was await to read that comic book before , but I just a little bit disappointed about that after I read. it is because it waste a lot of time at the beginning about bondage and after that the real sex just has a few pages ,it is definitely not enough for this comic. However, the topic of this is a good idea.

Two months in a row with Black Cat and bondage! Frankly, I'm not a fan of bondage (and I'm not particularly fond of the TASM film series) but hoo-boy! Did I enjoyed these two! So first, the setting was great and surprising. Felicia's internal dialogue is top notch, she's my second favorite character you write just after Jess. And I generally don't like symbiote fucking, but this time it just felt right. Art was fantastic, reminded to Maleev in his better times. (Speaking of, how did you get Stjepan Sejic for last months comic?) So yeah, great month for comics, looking forward to next month!

This comic harkens back to my first experience with Spider-Man. My first comics were not my own: they belonged to a family friend. It was through their comics that I first learned about Peter: specifically Post Secret Wars Peter. I learned about the black costume and its unusual properties as he first encountered The Rose. I read Peter A David's Sin-Eater storyline, and the death of Jean DeWolff. I remember a comic where Peter had a nightmare about his two costumes fighting over him, and the dramatic issue where Peter and Felicia broke up on the roof of Fisk Tower, which lead into the comic where Peter fought the symbiote 1 on 1 for the first time. Man, that was a time for comics. So yeah, this comic had a very real feel to it, in terms of the history involved. But Blackness was at the same time exactly what I wanted and yet not enough. First thing: not sure how I feel about the art. This may just be a personal pref thing, as the artist for Alias used a similar style, and I found it a little off putting there as well. I suppose thematically the art style does match up with the overall tone of both Blackness and Alias, but it feels especially off for me here, because I find it less attractive. In porn that's especially important. But like I said: that's likely just me talking. The rest of it is where it shines, even if it goes into NC territory. Invoking the mystery, the fear, the alienness originally accompanying the Black costume storyline. Because it is trying to call back to those old comics, though, it does mean that it doesn't go far enough for my taste. Anything involving Venom is always going to have nonconsensual elements, because of the violent nature of Brock combined with the symbiote. But this is pre-Venom, which means the symbiote's behavior is somewhat more confusing, especially when later canon establishes the symbiote as an outcast from its native species, and therefore less violent. Well, it's Tracy's story, and they clearly wanted to tell it a certain way: that the alien has drives too, and isn't really drawing upon Peter's sensibilities as a host, and therefore is bring brusque about sating it's desires. I can buy it. But I guess what I always wanted from a non-Venom symbiote story is a look into the symbiote's mind, either alone or meshed with Peter. This was not that, and more like a secret/alternate history, much like the Shriek comic... which still makes it very welcome to the young geek I was. Felicia is well characterized (she has to be, as she has to carry the narrative alone), and part of me would be interested in seeing more of this specific storyline explored. More consentually, of course. ;)
