I just bought Redshift earlier today, and I've been working on the character materials and learning to work with it.
Here's a test render with the built in spherical stereo camera. You can view it in 3D with various VR headsets, phones etc. I use whirligig with my Rift.
The materials etc. are still a work in progress. But I'll probably start animating the new scene soon, and then work on the materials again, once that's done.
I'll probably need to buy some better hardware before I can start rendering videos with the spherical cam. Either that or I drop the image quality/various effects etc. Right now this renders anywhere from 1-5 minutes at this quality, depending how close to the character the camera is. Interior shots are the heaviest. At 60fps a 1½ minute video would take around 10 full days to render.
The attached picture is the same image, but without smoothing the noise. Its image is a bit clearer, as the blurring to the noise I did caused some jaggies.
