Special Contest - Phase 1 (Nov/16)

So, it's time we try something new.

For Phase One I want a ONE-PAGE pitch of a script. Formatted the way of the image above.

Maximum of 5 panels with no more than 3 characters interacting (anything Spidey-related). Please include dialogues and objective descriptions.

Try to be reasonable and straight-to-the point. Complicated things will probably be discarded.

It doesn't need to be necessarily the first page, but I think it's easier that it is. Your call.

The file must be sent to me by email (tracyscops@gmail.com) with the exact subject: SCRIPT CONTEST .

Entries will be accepted until next Sunday (Nov 20th).

Also, since this is a new kind of contest, if things don't work quite well, I will initiate plan B, which is to have Phase Two with old ideas from previous contests. My call.

This is your chance to have your idea of a page be turned into part of an actual comic. Use it well!

Have fun!

Writing is supposed to be a fun thing to do, not a chore. From a writer's perspective, if you don't find joy in the craft of creating something, it will hardly become something others would appreciate as well. 95% of what I write goes into the garbage, where it belongs. Because it's stuff that's just not good enough to be produced. Here's a small tale: Interviewer: How much rewriting do you do? Hemingway: It depends. I rewrote the ending of Farewell to Arms, the last page of it, 39 times before I was satisfied. Interviewer: Was there some technical problem there? What was it that had stumped you? Hemingway: Getting the words right. (Ernest Hemingway, "The Art of Fiction." The Paris Review Interview, 1956)

It's difficult to muster up the energy to do this when I know it will be ignored.

Uoff this one is going to be a though one but might still give it a try.
