July/August Wallpaper | Concept Sketches

I still cannot believe that we're already half way through 2021. Where has the time gone, you guys? Heck! Once again, welcome to another set of concept WIPs, Cafè Cats!

As you can see this wallpaper's poll winner was my children. I am always excited for drawing cats and its doubly exciting when I get to draw my children! Since this time around Titania is now included in the piece, I thought it might be nice to also update the other designs. 

I made Valkyrie a little bit chubbier since she is a chubby little baby. She carries most of her weight around in her little primordial pouch, but girl still has jumps. Grim has developed some more salt in his pepper, so I added that in as well. Silver calls him our lucky cat and the running theory is that any time he uses his magical lucky cat powers, he gets another white hair. Then there's Titania, or Tia for short, and she's the oldest according to the vet, but she is the smallest girl. She's our Fairy Queen. We didn't know how accurate that name was going to be but she is our own cat to have Queened. Unfortunately she was so small and malnourished when we got her that her kittens didn't make it, but as sad as that is, we're just glad that nothing happened to her because she has been just the sweetest girl.

As for the concepts, I went with a couple of different ideas. The first is a summer fun day at the pool which, by the way, our cats would never actually go swimming no matter how much they like to sleep in the tub. But I thought it was cute. 

The same can be said around the cat napping pose. They sleep about a foot apart, but never together, but I dream that one day they will all nap together and be warm and cute. 

The last concept is Cafè manners in which, Grim has none. This one is accurate to real life, the girls are much more delicate about drinking their water but Grim? Grim will drink water and then come and wipe his water beard on you.

I'm not sure which one to choose... I'm leaning toward the Cafè Manners personally, but the others are just so cute and fun.
