AU: Kagome never returned from her world, miroku and sango and everyone inuyasha knew grew old and died, leaving him all alone formany years. In his distraught, he struggled to control his demon half that keeps coming to the surface more and more. Talon however, understands inuyashas pain of being alone and being an outcast. So he will never be alone again, Talon has vowed to help Inuyasha control his demon half so he can safely become a full demon and stay by Talons side.
In this particular scene, Talon has to leave to feed on human life force, as this is how Incubi survive. Inuyasha begins to get anxious at being left alone and fears Talon may forget about him and not return. So Talon gives inuyasha a special ring as a reminder of his promise to not abandon him. Touched by the sentiment, Inuyasha has only his necklace to give. Since Kaede and kagome are long gone, its power has ceased to work and he is able to remove it. Hes simply kept it for sentimental reasons all these years.. but now he feels he may be ready to move on.. <3
