Sorry for the rant!! I clearly have lots to say about this topic :) hope you are staying warm in Boise Lauren! Is John going to meet up with you there at some point with the kiddo too? Just curious, bet he wants to be there too .. SOO BUMMED THERES NO CAMERAS ALLOWED! Super not ok

One more thing.. so you mentioned how lame his phone conversations are .. well I’ve had a loved one in prison before and you run out of things to talk about pretty yucky considering they are incarcerated.. there isn’t much going on with them and their surrounding environment.. leading to boring phone conversations that are lacking substance. I totally get it though.. all he has to talk about is the bets he won or lost and how many soups or honey buns were in the pot that he may have won or lost lol… sad life in there.. hard to keep the conversation going with incarcerated loved ones sometimes.. at least that’s been my experience..

Ya know.. for some reason I believe that Alex didn’t kill them.. I’m not sure why but I just have this feeling that he was framed .. and then being an addict and lying just worked out nicely for the frame job someone did on him… I wish that in all the shows/documentaries would talk about any violent tendencies Alex had cause they NEVER said one word (at least that I heard) about him being violent in the past.. so except what I heard from John, no other journalist has hit on this subject .. nobody has asked if he has a history of violence.. .. in my head financial crimes vs. violent crimes are SOO different.. seems like such a leap to murder not just his son or his wife but both.. now I may even have thought it was Alex if only one of them was killed but I truly just don’t think he would have done that to both of them.. I really dont… his ONLY chance of ever getting out of this is finding out who really killed Paul and Maggie… so tragic. Alex created his own karma though.. just shame so many others had to suffer through it..

Lauren and John, I just read a couple of crazy comments on FB re: Alex phone call. I’m so sorry. You both have so much professional integrity. Please don’t let the trolls get to you. I don’t know what they have to gain. It says more about them and what “news” they are getting these opinions from. Certain outlets like to stir people up with hate. Classic divide and conquer tactics. As a retired children’s librarian, I’m often reminded of The Emperor’s New Clothes”

Alex's sociopathy had to come from somewhere! I suspect that both "Handsome" and Libby were major contributors.

I want to ask Dr. John about his thoughts about Alex's mother. The women in the Murdaugh family seem to be invisible. Alex's sister astonished the world with her existence when she showed up at court. Maggie played a surprisingly minor role at her own murder trial. And apart from the notorious obituary, we know hardly anything about Libby Murdaugh. But does that mean they are not important? I'm not sure. The sister appeared to have some authority within the family. And I suspect Libby Murdaugh might be Alex's role model when it comes to creating drama to manipulate people (see the fake obituary). What are your thoughts on the role of women in the Murdaugh family in general and Libby Murdaugh's influence on Alex in particular?
