In the news: Youtube's facing trouble with advertisers as they are backing out of deals due to lack of regulation on ad placement. This appears to have affected ad rev for creators on YT. At times like this, I am VERY GLAD TO BE (mostly) OFF OF THERE.
I think I had mentioned it before but Patreon switched from being a supplementary thing to a major income source, due to YT's issues over the past few months. At this point I really need to figure out how to expand Patreon, though.
March was a really REALLY shitty month for me. Constant home renovations led to little time to work on stuff. I barely managed to get the requests for that month done, let alone any other content outside.
Things should be going back to normal now. For this month, there's also a few updates:
1- If people withdraw out of the $25 and $40 tiers, the tier won't open up to someone new. I'll keep supporting the request tiers as long as they're active.
2- I'm launching a request poll perk to $10 supporters. Instead of being a popularity vote, you're free to suggest a character + idea to a survey. I'll then select one or two of these from the list each month and make it into a pic. This should give people more of a fair chance for their OCs to appear as requests. I'll take results for 1 week after the submission box goes up early in the month.
3- This month I'ma really try to learn Toonboom. I'll stream my progress via Twitch. If I can get the program mastered, I'll see if maybe I can get an 'advanced' license, and upgrade to premium later. Both are expensive, but it'd be hugely worth it.
4- (Tentative plans for upcoming months) If I can master Toonboom, there'll probably be a commission drive up to help get it.
-I'm planning to eventually do some YourCharacterHere animated gifs for commissions, so that should be fun.
-Animation #2 for PV02 will be starting work sometime soon. (If I can learn Toonboom that'd be a great way to do it)
-I'm trying to stick to doing character design streams over on Twitch. The first one's results were fun. This week I think Ima take popular characters in media and tweak em to improve them (starting with the 2017 Mega Man)
