$5 tier rework
Added 2017-05-30 21:00:18 +0000 UTCSo, to be blunt, the classroom sessions aren't working out really well. I'm not getting feedback or questions to build a lesson plan, with posts announcing an upcoming stream or requesting questions getting 0 engagement until like a day before the stream, engagement is usually only 1-2 people in streams, scheduling makes it a bit difficult for people to appear, and a lot of the engagement and questions I do get are from people not in the tier and often are on topics that have already been covered a few times.
I'm going to be doing one more class stream this month (I still don't know what yet, since I haven't gotten many requests or suggestions), but next month (unless the stream completely turns around) I'll need to look into something different and more productive.
So, I really need ideas on how to alter the tier.
Some of the options I've come up with:
- Sketch requests: people in the $5 tier can post short (sfw) ideas to a post. I'll doodle a few of them for an hour once a month.
- Character redesign: people can submit their characters to a post. I'll choose one and do a redesign live, altering the outfit or stylizing it.
- Do way more basic lessons, that are on way simpler topics. E.g. "how to do this trick in flash" or "how to make a vanishing point" or "how to draw facial elements." The $5 tier would still decide what's used but it wouldn't rely on live questions. Lessons would likely be shorter.

The big problem is a lot of that doesn't involve the tier specifically. That's the big issue. The $5 tier itself isn't being used that much. It feels kinda like a waste / non-exclusive when I have to open up its perks to everyone every single time.

Unless the answers and questions are fast. So either you stream normally or start/end with audience interaction. It might also give time for more solid answers and feedback, and you're not forcing yourself to engage, breaking workflow.

2017-05-31 02:34:16 +0000 UTCdo you mean like asking people to send in art they've been working on, and then kinda critiquing it and telling them what to improve on?
