Page 128 - Pencil roughs, ink, and layered files
Added 2021-01-19 06:32:37 +0000 UTCHey everyone, got a layered process post for you all here. Taking this relatively spoiler-safe page where Rek borrows an aerodyne from a hapless badguy pilot.
You'll notice I've got two pencil pages here. Originally the composition had a shot from the pilot's view with Rek's fist coming in at him, but I decided it was over-explaining what was going on. Feels just a little more kinetic going straight from the throat-grab to the dude flying through the air. Very Mike Mignola influenced pacing, like many things I do.

Thanks Yermo, glad you dig it! Yeah, I find with all of my writing and panel flow, the first pass ALWAYS tends to have more narrative connecting parts than it needs. The second pass is usually a process of determining where I can let the reader fill in the gaps themselves (and also save me a ton of labor in the inks).
