Thought that I'd preview a few thumbnails for some upcoming videos in June. I've been on a mad editing binge here lately to get a bunch of episodes cranked out since I'm going to be on the road quite a bit in June. My plan is to do some semi-live updates here on Patreon as I move about. I won't say where I'm going yet, but this trip that I've got coming up has been the most logistically complicated thing I've ever put together. Hope that people like it and are able to learn a thing or two along the way.
Also, I haven't announced it yet, but I'm putting together some meet ups for the summer. The first one is in Toccoa at the Camp Toccoa at Currahee banquet. You can find information on their website. Erik Dorr is going to be doing a talk with Jared Frederick on June 6th on Fierce Valor, the book that they co-authored at the WWII American Experience in Gettysburg. Really bummed that I can't go to that because I know that it's going to be really good.
And speaking of Gettysburg, I finalized plans last night for a Gettysburg weekend in late June. Here's what it looks like:
- On Friday, June 24th at 7:00 PM, there's going to be a Tank Talk at the WWII American Experience, which is going to be a deep dive on the Sherman tank with a retired Army colonel. Tickets are $30 for non-members and $20 for members. Info on visitww2.org.
- On Saturday, June 25th from 2:00-5:00 PM, Erik and I will be at The Gettysburg Museum of History hanging on and looking at all of the cool stuff that he has. As much time as I've spent in there, I'm still finding new things. And he may or may not have a few new items that you'll definitely want to check out :)
- On Sunday, June 26th from 9:00-11:00 AM, we'll be doing a battlefield tour with the guys from The Battle of Gettysburg Podcast and the podcast Addressing Gettysburg (which are two of my favorites). Details forthcoming on that one but I'm thinking of a Day 2 tour that starts on the Confederate lines and moves to the Peach Orchard and the Wheatfield, which is my favorite place on the battlefield.
Hope to see you all at one of those spots. I'm kicking around a few other ideas that would maybe have a meet up somewhere in the Midwest in late July, so keep your ears open for that too.
Busy busy!
