Agree with your assessment it probably is part of that but he’s probably also extremely paranoid that if he talks about it Eric could come back for him next time he will not be so lucky. I’m sure keeping his mouth shut was part of the deal even if unspoken. Remember when Eric was in the bar he made the comment that he knows who has wronged them just b/c they are not acting on it doesn’t mean they won’t at some point but their retribution is done in secret & that’s how they like it most don’t survive to tell any tales. I know Sookie told Tara & may tell others but she hasn’t been as traumatized by the vamps as Lafayette has been. I think his silence on the matter is actually smart. Although Sam does deserve some explanation other than Tara saying he just goes off to party sometimes.
