Doctor Who 4x11 “Turn Left” FULL REACTION

Absolutely! I adore Donna. I just hate how the writers dumb down the material a lot of times. We are smart enough to figure it out. *insert eyeroll*

Haha yeah i get what you’re saying😂 I thought she stressed her nothing specialness one too many times as well, but i’m always up for a Donna-centric episode.

I love a good Dickensian “Ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Future” story. And this was good. But I am not in love with this story like lots of Whovians are. Yeah, it tugs on the heartstrings like it is supposed to. But the writing sinks into juvenile territory. Donna is super important. Okay. I’m smart, I got it the first time you said it. Most people who are not very quick or clever got it the 2nd time, or at most the 3rd time. But this entire season was full of “I’m just a temp! I’m nothing special” about two dozen times, 5 or 6 times in this episode alone. OKAY, WE GET IT. We got it a while back. Stop it.

"What's Bad Wolf?" “It’s the end of the universe!”

Henry from CO

When Rose turned into Bad Wolf she said she scattered the words throughout time as a warning, we assumed it was just the messages in the first series but she left a message for the Doctor when he was in China Town too as a way to lead him to her. Billie Piper might have lost some extra weight as around this time she was the lead in a show called "Diary of a Call Girl", a Comedy Drama based on the blogs of real life high end prostitute in London. Think she did some period pieces too before she went to America to do Penny Dreadful.

I just love the one-two punch of Midnight and Turn Left. The former is (as you alluded to in your comments) what they can do with just one set, one room, some great acting and a fantastic script. The latter is Doctor Who at its most expansive - massive locations and ideas all packed into 45 minutes. As always Tate is amazing - she just gets better and better throughout the season... :) I'm about to watch you react to her final scenes... and I'm hoping there's going to be tears from you lol... In this episode I cry when the guy is taken to the 'labour camps' every single time. Bernard Cribbins acting at that point just destroys me, as Wilf.

Great reaction! I’m happy you realised that was chan tho. Not many people realise it

Haha I’ve seen Sliding Doors. I always liked Gwyneth with that short haircut😄

You were spot-on about that actress - she was Chantho in Utopia. "The road not taken" is a popular piece of storytelling, but it always works. "It's a wonderful life" is probably the most famous example of it;but it's cropped up in loads of Star Trek episodes - and the RomCom "Sliding Doors" (give that a watch if you haven't seen it!)

Ian Smith

Yeah similar to the current state of the world. Governments taking emergency action😅

Other Boy Reactions

Yeah I love that this was a darker, bleaker episode. Enjoy😄

Other Boy Reactions

'Emergency government' is a scary term. Who formed it? UK politicians who happened to be away from London when it got nuked? The military?

Loved your reaction. This episode gives me chills every time. A great What If episode that showed the harsh outcome of what could have happened if The Doctor wasn't there to protect the Earth. It was also sad hearing about the deaths of characters. You were right about the fortune teller. It was the same actress was Chan Tho. Catherine Tate's acting was amazing in this episode. She and Billie Piper had great chemistry in this episode. It's really sad seeing Donna not think much of herself and her mother putting her further down. The labour camp scenes, the stars disappearing and Donna finding out that she was going to die always give me chills. The episode got progressively bleaker as it went on. It started to feel genuinely real and unsettling. The acting from Donna and her family was truly great. Thanks for the triple upload. I'm about to watch your reaction to the final two now. :)

Damn that’s far! 😭

Leeds is a city in West Yorkshire, about 200 miles to the north of London (so a quarter of the country away). Not a huge distance by North American standards, but still a four hour drive! Closer than Glasgow though - that's about 400 miles to the north.
