This is all stuff that gets revealed over time. It's a progression of discover and that's what I watch for. Seeing reactors learn about the characters and the story over time. I understand the desire to get them there quicker, but it can take away from their discover of it for themselves. Then it can be debated with them on they've learned for themselves. Sorry. I can be a bit of a spoiler drag.

The emotions the shapeshifter said Dean had, Maybe a bit exaggerated but definitely real. You'll see more of how this causes tension between them later. I personally think it makes sense that Sam wouldn't bring it up immediately after, it must be an awkward situation to be in, especially as Dean isn't the sharing and caring type. I imagine he'd just rather try and forget what shifter Dean said to him. (and btw dean is 26 and sam is 22:)

2020-05-15 06:49:10 +0000 UTCGreat reaction, so just to put into perspective, the boys had roughly the same childhood. Now there are stark differences, which you'll find out later on, due to age but just like Dean, Sam grew up hunting. That's why he went to college, because he wanted to have a normal life, and if you remember in the pilot Sam reminded Dean that when Sam told his dad he was leaving for college, his response was "if you leave, don't come back" so that gives you a glimpse into his relationship with his dad. So basically they both have a lot of deep-seated issues which again you'll see throughout the duration of the show. And you're right, Dean lost his mom, and that is something that Sam, technically, can't relate too because he was a baby. I just wanted to put that into perspective as far as how their childhoods went and the way they grew up. It was very similar to one another, besides obviously the age difference which did put more of the burden on Dean. Now as far as the episode. I think there is one big take away (besides the glimpse into Deans head) and that is from this point forward Dean is officially "dead". I know that's obvious, but this episode is their first run in with the law. So just know "dead" is Dean's official status now. Anyway glad you enjoyed the episode. See ya next time.🤗
