But his love life has nothing to do with taking care of Fillory. Or shouldn’t have anything to do with taking care of Fillory. He only had to marry Fen because of her father, but she says at one point that she didn’t have to marry him and that she had a choice. So she trapped him willingly basically which frustrates me.

I don't enjoy monarchy, but what Elliot is saying is they have to do what is best for Fillory, which is kinda right here. The Foo Fighters are kinda shitty but what they are against is people from Earth coming in, playing monarchs and not really caring about Fillory and taking it seriously by making sacrifices for the people that live there which Elliot is trying to do.
