You are not the only reactor that seems to get confused every single time River events happen. I'm screaming at the TV 'she doesn't know that!! she's kissed him a thousand times before...!!' :D Like that's the whole point of her storyline. lol... But anyway, we're about to get into the three or four episodes that stopped me watching Doctor Who the first time round and my attention lags EVERY time, including one episode that everyone else absolutely loves and I don't get at all.

Also, Rory remembering being the Last Centurion - we already saw at the end of the last series that he remembered: when the TARDIS appeared at the wedding Rory said: 'Its the Doctor ... How cuold we forget the Doctor? ...and I was plastic...' The Doctor, Rory, River and Amy all remembered the events prior to the rebooting of the universe. It's never specifically stated why, but previously Amy remembered the soldiers who were wiped out by the crack in time because she is a time traveler and the Doctor also refers to them all as the centre of the collapse when they are running through the museum. The fact that Amy remembered the Doctor back into our reality may also be part of it - he brought with him the memory of their adventures together. Thats my reading of it anyway, but it was definitely shown at the end of Big Bang that he remembered being plastic at least at some level. Like he lived two lives - one in the first universe and one in the reboot but somehow recalls them both.

River and the Doctor are broadly going in opposite directions - she doesn't know when his first kiss with her will be until she gets to it., as she did here. She just knows that when she next sees him they will be closer to when he meets her for the first time and she sees him for the last time, but they could meet any number of times between each of those milestones - for all she knew, they were earlier in their relationship for him, but not so early that they hadnt kissed yet, since she had no idea when their first kiss is from his perspective.

Oh yes, hatch lady. We were all so incredibly confused as well. 🤣 I love the bits where they randomly produce President Nixon to smooth things over. 😀

The ending implied that River had kissed the Doctor before in his future, but the younger version of him hasn't kissed her yet. So River fears that she's reaching the end of her times with the Doctor, as everything is back to front with them

I don't think these are the same aliens exactly, we didn't see any aliens in The Lodger, we only saw The Hologram, so it could've been The Silence, but I don't think there's any official word on whether it was or not. Steven Moffat just said he really liked the set built for that episode

and then the universe was rebooted so those memories crossed over into the rebooted universe... it's all timey wimey and confusing but just go with it haha

The crack absorbed Rory, but then the Autons/robots visited Amy's house to create a scenario based on her life to lure The Doctor into the Pandorica trap, and they found that photo of Amy and Rory, and Rory was in Roman fancy dress. So then Rory became a part of the Roman legion trap, but he retained his memories from before he was swallowed by the crack because they literally made an exact replica of the real Rory, memories and all.

Amy was scared that her baby would be born with extra "gifts" because she travelled in the time vortex aboard the TARDIS for so long, not because she's scared she was pregnant with The Doctor's child :)

Yes that’s the exact feeling Matt gives off, making you feel like you’re the only person in the room! He’s my favorite doctor so far😄

Hi! I started Patreon at the beginning, of the month, but I thought I’d wait to comment until this season. I know Henry and Lloyd, hi guys. Anyway, I’m enjoying your reactions very much, you pick up on subtle things, quicker than any reactor I’ve seen.
Okay, Series 6. I love Series 6, others will tell you it’s confusing, and I get it, but I love head cannon and Moffat will leave room for some. Also, IMO that’s what makes his episodes so rewatchable. That, and how much fun I have while watching them. That’s also what I like about RTD finales, that they’re fun. RTD will throw in concepts that you’ve never heard of before that seem a little out there, and Moffat’s can be more complicated due to his greater use of the time element. For myself, I can go with the flow more than others and, of course, there’s nothing wrong with it either way. Matt’s my favourite Doctor, pretty much for the reasons you stated. I’ve listened to a lot of interviews and panels, so I might drop Matt tidbits along the way. I thought I’d start by sharing this one. The agent who discovered him said Matt had that rare quality of making you feel like you were the only person in the room while talking and listening to you. This agent was a former Who Companion from the early years, but they had parted ways before Matt auditioned for the part. Needless to say, she was pretty thrilled when she found out. Congratulations if you’ve read this far. 😊😂

The Silence had no interest in going to the Moon or going home, they just needed the Human Race to build a Space Suit which would be made with up to date technology for the 60's - The reason for the Space Suit is yet to be revealed.
River had to come to terms with the fact that she couldn't be intimate with the Doctor again for the rest of her days, even when she knew it would happen one day, it still took her by surprise.

I think River was confused by the Doctor’s reaction to her kiss because he had been flirting with her throughout this whole adventure. Maybe his flirting had River assuming that at this point in their back-to-front timelines he was aware they were an item. She even says to Rory after killing the Silents, “My old fellow didn’t see that, did he? He gets ever so cross.”
I can’t imagine any other TV show, certainly not an American one, featuring a character like Canton, a white man kicked out of the FBI in 1969 for wanting to marry a black man.

Wait your answer seems different from the person above you about Rory. So is this Rory the same as the plastic centurion? Did he wait 2000 years or does he just remember the centurion Rory?

Anyway, this is... not my favorite two-parter to say the least, but it has so many WTF moments that I adore. It's just needlessly confusing and feels like they're just throwing stuff at the wall and some of it works and some of it doesn't and overall it just struggles because of that. I liked Canton, I'm not a huge fan of the Silence (as a concept, they're interesting, but the way they present them is incredibly inconsistent and I would've just rather them... not show them and actually drive home the "forgetting stuff" part; I also find the fact that they talk doesn't really work even though the story hinges on it and I always forget that they can talk; hah), the Nixon stuff is pretty good, the River stuff is great, the stuff with the little girl is okay (I love the cliffhanger), the Amy/Rory stuff feels like it's retreading old ground, the Doctor being shot and killed stuff is interesting and was the part of the season that got me excited when I first watched it.

Its all a bit wibbly wobbly, timey wimey, my friend! And yes, your confusion is all part of Moffat's grand plan! As for Rory remembering being a Roman, when Amy brought the Doctor back at her wedding, he and Amy began remembering both versions of their lives, including Rorys existence as a plastic dump, icate created out of Amy's consciousness by the Doctor's enemies. I think the other existence is sort of like a half remembered dream.
As to the Silents as an enemy, I think they're a really clever and frightening concept. Along with he Weepinb Angels they are one of the best new villains created in DW. Also, I don't think that was their space ship in the Lodger episode. The Doctor said they're scavengers, so I think they stole the technology from a similar ship to build that console for whatever purpose they had.
The other thing I like in this story is the way they integrated the concepts of paranoia and conspiracy with the presidency in 69 - Nixon being known as the most paranoid holder of that office. We now know why Nixon secretly recorded everything in the by e Oval Office - the Doctor told him to!

The version of Rory in the Big Bang is our Rory; the Nestenes copied Rory from Amy's memory, but Amy's memory is special because of the Crack in her bedroom wall. When they copied her memory, they also copied his soul which is why they were able to bring him back even though he never existed (the same reason Amy was able to bring her parents and the Doctor back as well).

Right but why did they need the suit? I guess to imprison the girl but I don’t know who she is yet. And these are the same aliens from The Lodger right?

I loved your comment at the end of Impossible Astronaut - "this is another two parter" Oh,my friend - if only! :D To be fair,I love Moffat's fertile imagination, and his ability to think long-term. That is also his problem,in a way. Nonetheless, there are lots of surprises to come - and plenty to say ...but only once you get to the end. Until then - no spoilers!!

They needed a space suit was the answer that The Doctor gave in that moment to why we had decided to go to the moon.

You're now entering a very chaotic season of Doctor Who. Not my favourite, but there are some brilliant episodes in it. I wish they would have let the Amy/Rory/Doctor stuff be properly settled at the end of last season, but c'est la vie. I obviously can't comment on that aspect further without being spoilery, damn it. 😂
