I've watched this about 4 or 5 times (twice myself and then two or three times through reactors) and I still don't get it. I mean, I get it, but it has zero emotional resonance for me. I've never understood why it's seen as such a classic by so many, but each to their own. (It's better than Curse of the Black Spot at least).

Great reaction :) House didn't eat the TARDIS - it was intending to eat it, therefore needed to remove the consciousness, but then the Doctor told him there are no more TARDISes coming through the rift. House changed his plan from merely consuming the TARDIS and using the Doctor, Rory and Amy for spare parts, to hijacking the TARDIS by putting his consciousness into it and flying off to our universe to look for suitable food.

its a stretch but i imagine that House was some how able to keep them apart, it was able to trick them telepathically, so if they held hands he'd find a way to separate them without realizing.
The voice of House was Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex, Good Omens, Tron Legacy and the Twighlight films)

Wonderful episode written by Neil Gaiman who also wrote “American Gods”, “Good Omens”, “The Graveyard Book”, “Coraline” and “The Sandman” comics. This is a personal favorite of mine and has such a Gaiman style of fantasy and horror. He does it well.
Gaiman since his childhood has been a huge Doctor Who fan and stated so in a wonderful interview with Craig Ferguson, “I’ve always loved mythology and Doctor Who was my first mythology.” Even his wife singer Amanda Palmer is a huge fan.
There’s this nice video of the two of them performing in New York and they invite a “special guest” to join them on stage, who was also in NY performing in a play. The song was written by a young girl (Allegra Rosenberg) who was inspired by “The Doctor’s Wife”, and really is pretty good.
Here’s “Say Hello” performed by Amanda Palmer, supported by Gaiman and the “special guest”. Do enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkoB1U956Gc

HOUSE: We are in your universe now, Doctor. Why should it matter to me in which room you die? I can kill you just as easily here as anywhere. Fear me. I've killed hundreds of Time Lords.
DOCTOR: Fear me. I've killed all of them.

DOCTOR: You know, since we're talking with mouths, not really an opportunity that comes along very often, I just want to say, you know, you have never been very reliable.
IDRIS: And you have?
DOCTOR: You didn't always take me where I wanted to go.
IDRIS: No, but I always took you where you needed to go.

Well, why shouldn't Rory be the pretty one? 😂 I love this one, including the nightmarish bits.

It's a charming episode, although there's a little too much going on elsewhere (away from the Doctor and Idris). Nonetheless,Suranne Jones is magnificent, and has such presence! Oh,to have had her as Doctor #13.

I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of this era, Matt Smith’s Doctor aside, but this is such a beautiful episode - a love letter to the true star of the show.
“No, but I always took you where you needed to go!” Confirms what we already knew, it was so lovely to actually hear it. I’ve been waiting since I was 5 years old watching Doctor No. 3 to hear that line.
