Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I donβt feel Ian made Mickey do anything though. He stated what he wanted which is what people should do in a relationship in my opinion. Mickey can meet those demands or not. He decided that Ian was worth it and he didnβt want to lose him. Yes it was hard, one of the hardest things heβs had to do, but it was worth it because now heβs free. Yes he got in a fight with his dad but thatβs nothing new and he got in a few good punches and his dad was taken away to jail. And now that everyone knows he doesnβt have to hide anymore with anyone in town. And if he and Ian breakup at some point he still doesnβt have to hide. I thought it was beautiful and usually the most difficult decisions have the best results.

I love this episode a lot. One of my favorites from the show. But there is something that kind of, idk -- bothers me? That's not really the right word. I guess I just don't know how to feel about a certain thing that happens in this episode. It's about Mickey's coming out. Based on your reaction, we don't have the same opinion on this (I think), but I just wanted to share my thoughts (if that is okay). Okay, so. Let's start with something that I think is very important to say before I share my opinion. Ian has every right to not want their relationship to be a secret anymore. Seeing your partner basically having two different lives, is incredibly hard and frustrating. So I definitely understand that he doesn't want that anymore, that is completely fair. Something that kind of doesn't sit right with me though, is that he gave Mickey an ultimatum and in a way forced him to come out in front of his abuser. On the day of the christening of his son, who was conceived in an awful way (that being Mickey's trauma). That day was probably so scary for Mickey, cause his abuser got out and he had to go through all that with his son. So is it valid of Ian to not want them to be a secret anymore? absolutely. But in my opinion -- this was not the right day to let Mickey know he doesn't want that anymore. I am still in the closet myself and I would be so terrified if someone gave me an ultimatum to come out to my homophobic family. I wouldn't be ready for that. And Ian calling Mickey a coward wasn't very cool either in my opinion, cause Ian knows what Terry is capable of. Anyways -- Like I said, our opinions probably aren't the same, and that is totally fine; it would be boring if everyone has the same opinions on everything. Guess I just wanted to share my thoughts and I hope you don't mind :)
