Painful episode and yet some of the best of Torchwood.

Fun fact! The one guy in the Government board room who was pitching that they spin the Children situation is Nicholas Briggs; the voice of the Daleks, Cybermen, Judoon (and more) in Doctor Who. He gets around a lot!

Very heartbreaking. From the reveal of the children still being inside the 456 to Clem dying and then Ianto's death. It was very shocking. I remember there being a lot of outrage over Ianto's death. They even foreshadowed it at the start with Ianto holding Jack in his arms once he got shot and then Jack ends up holding Ianto in his arms once the virus gets him.
I think the most disturbing thing about this episode (aside from the camera scene showing the kid from the 90s) was the cabinet discussion with the politicians willing to sacrifice kids. It's so frustrating to watch because you can actually imagine governments doing this in real life.
The way the lady is quick to label the poor and less socially useful as suitable sacrifices always makes me angry and repulsed lol. The way they categories potential sacrifices by using the social class system is so messed up.
One of my favourite parts was Lois standing up and threatening the cabinet. It's such a good moment and they provide this false hope of Jack having everything under control only for things to go downhill with the virus killing everyone in the building which sadly results in Ianto's death. God. Even rewatching it is very sad. Now I'm bracing myself for you to watch the final part.
