Was absolutely convinced that Oswin was going to be a companion the way they wrote her and I thought the actress was excellent in this. Her realisation at the end was heartbreaking. I think this is my favourite standalone dalek episode of Doctor Who. This season is another dodgy one for me with some good episodes and some less good, but this is definitely one of the better ones for me.

That was great :) I love this episode - glad you enjoyed it. And yes, Oswin is a fantastic character. There are a few one episode / single adventure characters that would have made great full-on companions. (Rita in the God Complex was another one I would have liked to see ,more of) Not that I wanted her instead of Amy, but I was thinking, 'yeah, maybe she'll join the crew for a few eps -interesting dynamic... ah no, ok scratch that, she's a Dalek...'.

I love this episode, basically for the reasons you mentioned. I grew weary of Daleks and this one uses them in a unique way. As for Amy and Rory, you can see how both of them have grown quite a bit. I like that progression, but then I’m biased; they’re my favourite companions.

I love how this episode managed to make the daleks scary again after RTD used them so much they almost turned in to a joke

Maybe you're right that Rory does still love her more, but I think she's definitely come to appreciate so much more. By the end of their run in the series, they are one of my favourite fictional couples and I really buy into the way their relationship has evolved.
