When the Doctor dropped Amy and Rory off at their new home (and Rory's favourite car) and Amy asked why he's leaving, he says, " Because you're still breathing..." he doesn't want to wait until she's dead and he's left standing over their graves... which is a spoiler to how it eventually ends.. naughty Moffat...
Also they genuinely filmed in Central Park, they had to be careful filming the scene where The Doctor reads Amys last message as a crowd had gathered and they were scared of spoilers. This was about the time Karen Gillian was cast in Guardians of the Galaxy, hence her exit.

Yeah on my list of episodes it says that the Christmas special is episode 6 and my guide said that that clip came before episode 6. I guess it’s different in the US. Oh well that’s ok. I don’t know who the Doctor’s talking about so hopefully I’ll be ok😄👍🏽

You may have spoiled yourself by watching "The Prequel" it's a minisode after the next episode (Xmas Special) We knew well in advance that this was the end for The Ponds and that their demise would be thanks to the angel's & even who the new companions/companion would be as well. As stated Series 7 is split into 2 parts known to most as S7 A and S7 B. S7 B starts at the next episode

So we've arrived at this episode, finally. Then there's just one thing to say, "P.S."

That last clip technically shouldn't have been watched at this particular point. Probably no big deal, though. I'm with you on the whole Vastra thing. It simply doesn't work in historical context, and turns it a little too much into out-and-out fantasy (rather along the lines of the giant Cyberman in Victorian London). Not that Who shouldn't do that;it just shouldn't be quite so overt, imo.

I’m leaving a link if you’d like to see a behind the scenes look at their departure. It’s about 10 minutes, and no spoilers.

This season was divided in two (with a Christmas special between the blocks), and this was the finale of the first block. There was a gap of about six months between season 7A and season 7B, so we had a bit of time to process things before starting up with a new companion.

Amy and Rory are my companions. What I love is that, with River, they’re a family. It’s weird and beautiful at the same time. I cry every time I watch this, so, I don’t watch it very often. With River, I basically think it is her issue more than the Doctor’s. Of course watching your loved ones age is probably one of the saddest things in life. For such a long lived being, I’m sure it takes its toll. We knew it was coming, back in the day. This season was actually split into two parts. The Olympics were this year, and I know that played into it. Karen Gillian told Moffat she wanted a dramatic send off. I believe it was right after this she went on to film Guardians of The Galaxy. At a convention panel right after this, Craig Ferguson, who was hosting the panel, called Moffat a bastard for killing Amy and Rory, lol. Evidently they were very popular in his household.

Haha nooo, River didn't mean "never let him see you age" in a "The Doctor likes them young and pretty" way
The Doctor doesn't like change and losing his friends, and with each year you age, you're a year closer to death.
But The Doctor doesn't really experience that in the same way as humans do, because he has a slowed down body clock and is pretty much God-like to us lesser species

The next episode is a Christmas special and then the second half of the season (episode 6-13) after that

I think the show that Arthur Darvill filmed directly after this was Broadchurch. He wrapped on Doctor Who I think in April 2012 and then they shot Broadchurch in the Summer of that year for an early 2013 airdate
Chris Chibnall offered him the job on the set of either Dinosaurs on a Spaceship or The Power of Three

We were devastated when they left but we knew it was coming. It was announced way back in December 2011 and the episode aired in late September 2012:

I think Amy died around 1995. It's so weird and messed up that she's probably already dead and buried in the ground during The Eleventh Hour as a kid when she first meets The Doctor.
I never thought of it that way until now

He went back to the China hundreds of years ago to plant a message on one of the vases. River would read that message and send him a direct signal from her device to lock on to so they could arrive safely

The scene of young Amelia running out and hearing the TARDIS is actually planted in "The Eleventh Hour" before older Amy wakes up, we were supposed to think that it was just a dream. But The Doctor actually went back in time and told her stories of her future. I assume afterwards he made her sleep or mostly forget, so she could only remember that visit in the back of her mind and in dreams. So poetic and beautiful
