This is hands down one of my favourite episodes of this show. The fight scene is so intense and so good. I feel like Rebekah really fucked up in that situation. Why push Marcel to try to stop Klaus if you’re gonna tell him to give up half way through? She’s known her brother for a thousand years; she should’ve known that wouldn’t have worked.
I LOVE what Marcel says at the end. It’s so incredibly powerful. Klaus may be stronger and more powerful, but at the end of the day he is not a leader. Marcel has the respect and love of his men, as shown when no one picks up the coin. He has loyal followers because he cares, and I love that he says he had to learn that himself. So so powerful.
The scene at the end is amazing. I 100% agree that they had complete right to turn on him and doubt him bc when has he ever shown them he cares? When has he stood by them the way they have? When has he ever shown he can be trusted? It makes sense where they’re coming from, and even if his intentions were pure this time, he has no right to be upset with them. But even so, as bad as Klaus is, I can’t help but feel sad for him when he cries lol.

I find it hard to like Marcel, just a bit too cocky for a vampire so young and he should know what Klaus is capable of. The blood of his men is on his hands, those poor zealots had no idea what Marcel asked them to risk, he exploited their loyalty and didn't even have the guts to fight Klaus himself. Also does anyone else wish Diago died? Can't stand him

Man, I just never felt any chemistry between ElijahxHaley and MarcelxRebekah. To me, even if they're not blood, Rebekah and Marcel are aunt and nephew. She watched him grow up. I know my feeling of family needs to be adjusted with a show like this but I can't help what I see.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the fight scene. Like others have stated, the way it's set up is weird. I also feel like Rebekah set up Marcel, at least a little bit. She had to know that the plan wouldn't work considering she spent 1000 years with Klaus.

Yeah... Rebekah was so against Klaus, but ended up just staying there akwardly.

I have been waiting for you to get to this episode!! Mainly for the fight scene. First off, I think we can all agree going at the Mikaelsons one by one is stupid and pointless. Of course they’re gonna win! To this day I have no idea why that was the choice they made. Especially when we saw that they HAD HIM when they started crowding him. If they kept on him. Crowding and overwhelming him, I think they could’ve beat him.
But that’s not my point. Ever since I first saw this episode, I’ve had a theory that Rebekah secretly played Marcel. For ALL the reasons you pointed out. But, she lured him into a false sense of security and the WAY she told him to pick up the coin. When she could’ve easily joined the fight herself. If she had jumped in after he got angry, they could’ve taken him. I never understood why she just stood there. Both of them actually!
Another thing that annoyed me about that scene is that Rebekah KNOWS what Klaus is capable of. When she drops the dagger like she’s never seen him like that. It just never sat right with me. It just SEEMED like a screwjob done to purposely make Marcel look like an idiot and a weak King. Which was pretty successful if you ask me.

Still it was Klaus fault. Marcel and Rebekah would have never be happy if he would remain human and keep aging. So, screw Klaus for putting him in that position.

Well season 5 of tvd was when everything started to go bad. The same thing happened to the originals. The thing is The Originals and legacies has nothing on the first four seasons of TVD. It really was something special

When you said “NO IT DOESN’T” 😂😂 This was a great episode. That fight scene was incredible and the way Rebecca’s face dropped once she realised Klaus was about to tear everyone up was priceless. I love how Camille doesn’t give in to Klaus and his paranoia. I never considered it in TVD that much but it really sucks to have a part of your memory taken. And feeling like your losing your mind. Compulsion is a crazy power.
Yeah Elijah was going to be fine. Both he and Klaus said he’ll be hallucinating for a day or two. The whole situation with Klaus is interesting and what I think he lacks is seeing things from another perspective and UNDERSTANDING it. Like sure it sucks that your brother thinks your intentions for your child isn’t pure but how can you expect people to trust you when you yourself don’t even trust them? Let alone all the stuff he’s done.

yeah - Klaus has done terrible things - but using your own child would be another level. So, I understand why he would be offended and hurt by that accusation.

Marcel did kind of "let" Klaus dagger Rebekah for 52 years. Klaus gave marcel a choice. Marcel could undagger Rebekah and be with her for the rest of his life or Marcel could choose Klaus and Klaus would make Marcel into a vampire. Marcel chose Klaus's side and "let" Rebekah be daggered. (Although, don't get me wrong - ultimately, it was Klaus who forced this)

After watching episodes of TVD season 5, and now this... God, The Originals has such a better writing.
And I just want to say how much I love Camille in this episode.

Camille actually is still compelled. She just took notes and left for herself a secret message during her talks with Klaus. And then she figured it out.

And yeah Elijah healed quickly bc he’s an original. They can’t be killed so the bite just makes them hallucinate for a couple days then they’re ok!

Klaus didn’t know that their baby could create hybrids. He thought he was the only one who can do that. Even if the baby has his blood he still didn’t consider it bc none of the other hybrids he made with his blood could make other hybrids. So they were all wrong assuming he was going to use his baby.
