I really like this one - one of my favourite Christmas episodes. You were incredibly quick at getting the triple twist to the point that it almost ruined it how quick you were. :D For some reason you just got it ALL so quickly. Too clever for this show clearly. :D

Wow! And if you loved this then you'll love so many others... this one is decent, but nowhere near the best.

"Shut up Shut up." It used to be the Doctors phrase, but now Clara says it all awful lot 👍🏼

Literally the only Dr Who I've ever seen. (I have a think for Nick Frost) So awesome.

It is interesting. He never seems at all impressed with Clara's beauty, and she is quite beautiful, but more so with who she is, her drive, cleverness and her pure joy of adventure. The perfect companion for Twelve.

I love the part where old Clara asks the Doctor if he really can't see no difference in her, and we see that to him she really looks the same. Also, when young Clara says "am I young?" the Doctor says "no idea!" and runs to grab a mirror so that she can confirm it herself. He really can't discern her age haha.

The Clara/Danny stuff in this episode is really beautiful. Like you said, it's Clara helping herself heal and let go. And I agree that it's much better send off to Danny than what we got in the s8 finale, even though it wasn't technically Danny.
Love your speculation/questioning of what the 12/Clara relationship might look like in the upcoming series. Will Clara know when too much is too much? Will the Doctor have more awareness? We'll see!

Not sure if it's been said, but Clara struggling to open the cracker/The Doctor helping her is a really sweet parallel to Matt Smith's last episode, with Clara helping the older Eleven pull a cracker.

One thing I forgot to mention - the actor playing the elf called Wolf also plays Strax. Easy to miss without the Sontaran prosthetics!

Oh fun, one of my very favorite WHO Christmas Specials. Look forward to watching the reaction. Long live Shona!

This is an episode I adored on first viewing and mellowed a little on as time goes on. The pacing is a bit wack, but I still love the Clara/Doctor stuff so much. Honestly, they could just give me any episode dealing with their relationship and I would eat it all up.
I also really liked Shona. Apparently, if Jenna Coleman hadn't decided to stay, Shona would've been the new companion. There was a lot of "oh I hope she's the new companion" when this episode aired.
Anyway, of the two Clara "endings" we get between this and the last episode, I prefer the one in Death in Heaven.

I really like this Christmas episode. I think its one of the best of the specials , along with Matt Smith's A Christmas Carol. As Will said above, Jenna Coleman was given the choice of either staying on or leaving at this point, and in the end decided to stay. If she had left then the actress who played Shona was most itself going to be the companion for series 9. Another fun fact is that the actor who played Professor Albert is Michael Troughton, son of Patrick Troughton, who played the 2nd Doctor in the 1960s. You've also seen his brother, David Troughton, in the David Tennant episode Midnight (also playing a professor as it happens).

Definitely one of my favourites among the Specials. The elements of suspense, horror, sentimentality and comedy integrate particularly well within this particular story.

The reason for the apparent fake-out with Clara was because Jenna Coleman was originally intended to leave, but at the last minute decided that she wasn't ready to go, meaning Moffat had to do some hasty rewrites! By the way, my understanding was that the way Danny was able to act the way he did in Death In Heaven was because love is supposedly more than just an emotion, it 'is a promise', so not having emotions because the inhibitor was enabled didn't stop him from acting to help Clara.
