I think we're all in agreement that Justin is the best character. Yeah he messed up big time, but he's the best written character in the show. I love him, you'll grow to love him too in the next seasons.

2021-11-20 00:29:27 +0000 UTCI absolutely love the way the character of Justin is handled. He’s the one that I sympathized with the most outside of Jessica. I remember watching this episode and I was ready to utterly hate him when they were being ambiguous about his part in what happened at the party. I thought that he was the one who did it. Not that it justifies the part he did play because it’s doesn’t and I don’t necessarily “like” him but as a character, he’s interesting. He says he loves and cares about Jessica more than anything but he let her down when she needed him the most. But I do believe him when he says he cares deeply about her. These kids are just dumb and messed up.

2021-10-31 11:43:15 +0000 UTCIt does feel like Hannah tries to put the blame on Justin in the tape eventhough they both did the same thing, Hannah having even more of a chance to do something since she was actually in the room. If this tape should have been anyone’s it should have been Byrce’s or even Hannah’s, Justin’s guilt doesnt affect Hannah, Hannah’s guilt should effect her. As you said it is quite annoying that Hannah made this about herself, when she isnt the victim. And aswell even the aftermath of the assault, Hannah still made it about her by leaving Jessica there. As much as Hannah is a victim in the story, she is still a selfish person in my opinion but anyways I guess it makes her more layered as a character. Excited for next episode.

And yes, being a witness is awful, but Jessica was the one who was getting raped :( I personally don’t really understand why Hannah created this second tape for Justin while she did the exact same thing as he did (nothing, basically). So that makes me think — did Hannah maybe make this tape not only about/for Justin but also about herself? Like — maybe she’s not only calling out Justin on his behavior, but also herself. But I don’t know.

2021-10-31 10:46:46 +0000 UTCYeah that’s what upset me the most as well, how Hannah dealt with the assault of Jessica afterwards. She didn’t do anything, the very least she could’ve done was to stay with her and make sure she’s okay, and then she should’ve told her what happened. But no. She left and then she made it about her - like this is the 9th reason why I killed myself, Jessica getting raped, I’m the one you should feel sorry for because it was hard to watch. I get that it’s hard to witness, but like… Making that one of the reasons why just feels odd to me, she’s turning the focus over to herself. That’s how I felt about it anyway, other’s might feel different. But it just goes to show that you can’t really take Hannah’s word for everything either, she’s just a witness as well and some things you need to take with a grain of salt, because she doesn’t know the full story of everything. Lol, I tried to write an explaination over and over, but it’s hard to do without revealing everything as things are gonna be explained soon anyways, and it kind of sucks when you know things beforehand and won’t come as a surprise, which is part of the ”fun“ when watching a new show 😛 Excited for the next couple of episodes 😁😁
